TL;DR: The melting and solidification behavior of ZrNiAl alloys were studied in this paper, where several alloys exhibiting a good glass forming ability (GFA) and amorphous rods of 2, 5 and 8mm in diameter were cast.
Abstract: The melting and solidification behavior of ZrNiAl alloys were studied. Near one eutectic point, several alloys were found exhibiting a good glass forming ability (GFA) and amorphous rods of 2, 5 and 8 mm in diameter were cast. Zr 60 Ni 21 Al 19 alloy was found to exhibit excellent GFA and amorphous rods with 8 mm in diameter were successfully cast. All the alloys exhibit the same melting temperature, which indicates that they belong to the same ternary eutectic system.

TL;DR: In this paper, a composition useful in the production of tritium in a nucleareactor was described, where lithium aluminate particles are dispersed in a matrix of zirconium.
Abstract: A composition is described useful in the production of tritium in a nucleareactor. Lithium aluminate particles are dispersed in a matrix of zirconium. Tritium produced by the reactor of neutrons with the lithium are absorbed by the zirconium, thereby decreasing gas pressure within capsules carrying the material.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the electrical properties of a 2 μm-thick oxide film formed by water oxidation (360°C) of two Zr alloys, Zircaloy-4 (Zy-4) and ZrNb(1%)O(0.13%), in gaseous atmospheres and found that capacitances are frequency dispersed, in agreement with Jonscher's law of dielectric relaxation.

TL;DR: In this paper, high energy mechanical milling of Mg powders with either crystalline ZrNiCr and ZrNIC 0.6Cr 0.4 powders or mechanically milled amorphous Zr NiCr and NNi1.6C0.4 powder is shown to be an effective hydrogen absorption and desorption catalyst.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a review of the results of several models based on self-consistent and upper-bound intergranular constraint theories for the prediction and analysis of irradiation creep and growth in zirconium alloys.
