CuO, ZrO2 and ZnO nanoparticles as antiwear additive in oil lubricants
A. Hernández Battez,Rubén González,J.L. Viesca,J.E. Fernández,J.M. Diaz Fernandez,A.F.L. Machado,R. Chou,J. Riba +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the anti-wear behavior of nanoparticle suspensions in a polyalphaolefin (PAO 6) was discussed and compared using an ultrasonic probe for 2 min. The results showed that the suspensions with 0.5% of ZnO and ZrO 2 had the best general tribological behaviour, exhibiting high friction and wear reduction values even at low deposition levels on the wear surface.
Journal ArticleDOI
Friction reduction properties of a CuO nanolubricant used as lubricant for a NiCrBSi coating
TL;DR: In this paper, the friction behavior of NiCrBSi coating lubricated by CuO nanoparticle suspension (nanolubricant or nanofluid) in a polyalphaolefin (PAO6) was discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
The tribological behaviour of ZnO nanoparticles as an additive to PAO6
A. Hernández Battez,J.E. Fernandez Rico,A. Navas Arias,J. L. Viesca Rodriguez,R. Chou Rodriguez,J.M. Diaz Fernandez +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a study on the tribological behaviour of ZnO nanoparticles as an additive to a polyalphaolefin (PAO6) and on the influence of dispersing agents (OL100 and OL300) was conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tribological behavior of polyalphaolefin with the addition of nickel nanoparticles
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of addition of 20 nm diameter nickel nanoparticles on the tribological behavior of synthetic oil (polyalphaolefin, PAO6) was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tribological behaviour of two imidazolium ionic liquids as lubricant additives for steel/steel contacts
TL;DR: In this article, two room-temperature ionic liquids (ILs), 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluroborate [HMIM][BF 4 ] and 1hexyl 3methylorideamethylamine hexafluorophosphate [HMMIM][PF 6 ], have been studied as 1%wt. additives of a mineral hydrocracking oil for steel-steel contacts.
