Analysis of Lower Limb Asymmetries by Isokinetic and Vertical Jump Tests in Soccer Players
Hans Joachim Menzel,Mauro Heleno Chagas,Leszek Antoni Szmuchrowski,Sílvia Ribeiro Santos Araújo,André Gustavo Pereira de Andrade,Fabianna Resende de Jesus-Moraleida +5 more
TL;DR: It might be pertinent to perform, in addition to isokinetic assessment, a vertical jump test on a force platform to assure widespread and reliable diagnostic information.
Journal ArticleDOI
Understanding Player Load: Meanings and Limitations.
Sarah da Glória Teles Bredt,Mauro Heleno Chagas,Gustavo H. C. Peixoto,Hans Joachim Menzel,André Gustavo Pereira de Andrade +4 more
TL;DR: A brief discussion on the meanings that have been assigned to Player Load, its limitations, and the lack of clear and complete information about Player Load calculation methods concluded that a deeper discussion of Player Load as a descriptor of external load is warranted in the sports sciences literature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Variations in Repetition Duration and Repetition Numbers Influence Muscular Activation and Blood Lactate Response in Protocols Equalized by Time Under Tension
Lucas Túlio de Lacerda,Hugo Cesar Martins-Costa,Rodrigo César Ribeiro Diniz,Fernando Vitor Lima,André Gustavo Pereira de Andrade,Frank Douglas Tourino,Michael G. Bemben,Mauro Heleno Chagas +7 more
TL;DR: The data obtained in this study show that training protocols conducted with the same TUT, but with different configurations, produce distinct neuromuscular and metabolic responses so that performing higher repetition numbers with shorter repetition durations might be a more appropriate strategy to increase muscle activation and blood lactate concentration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sports Injury Forecasting and Complexity: A Synergetic Approach.
Sérgio T. Fonseca,Thales R. Souza,Evert Verhagen,Richard E.A. van Emmerik,Natália Franco Netto Bittencourt,Luciana De Michelis Mendonça,André Gustavo Pereira de Andrade,Renan Alves Resende,Juliana M. Ocarino +8 more
TL;DR: The fundamental concepts related to complexity based on physical principles of self-organization and the consequence of accepting sports injury as a complex phenomenon are described and presented to help sports professionals to forecast sports injuries occurrence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acute effect of constant torque and angle stretching on range of motion, muscle passive properties, and stretch discomfort perception
Christian Et. Cabido,Juliana Castro Bergamini,André Gustavo Pereira de Andrade,Fernando Vitor Lima,Hans Joachim Menzel,Mauro Heleno Chagas +5 more
TL;DR: The results showed an increase in ROMmax for both CA and CT, but the increase was greater for CT than for CA (CA vs. CT in poststretching, p = 0.003), which may be explained by greater changes in the biomechanical properties of the muscle-tendon unit and stretch tolerance, as indicated by the results of PS and FSTROM.
