Failure mechanism and lateral bearing capacity of monopile-friction wheel hybrid foundations in soft-over-stiff soil deposit
TL;DR: In this paper, experimental and numerical studies are carried out to explore the lateral load and moment resistance capacities of the monopile-friction wheel hybrid foundation in soft-over-stiff soil deposit.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation on the Behavior of Stiffened Caisson Installation in Uniform Clay from Large Deformation Modeling
TL;DR: Suction caissons, widely applied in offshore engineering, suffer from significant uncertainties about the flow mechanism of the surrounding soil during installation, especially for caisson as mentioned in this paper, especially for a single caisson.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of capacities of bucket foundations in soft-stiff-soft clays under combined loading
TL;DR: In this paper, a series of numerical analyses are conducted to explore the effects of geometric variation with the interbedded stiff clay, soil material properties and combined loading onto the bearing capacities of bucket foundations, and a new failure mechanism for bucket foundations in soft-stiff-soft clays under general loading is obtained.
Journal ArticleDOI
Behavior of Large Geotextile Mat Cofferdam with a New Arrangement of Geotextile Reinforcement Stiffness Lying on Soft Sediments
TL;DR: In this paper, a new arrangement of geotextile reinforcement stiffness for large geotectile mat cofferdams was proposed, which often suffers from the failure of the bottom layer mat.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of the torsional behaviour of circular piles in double-layered nonhomogeneous soil
TL;DR: In this paper, a new analytical method for predicting the nonlinear response of torsional loaded piles in a double-layer soil profile, which considers the effect of elastoplastic behaviour of soil and the non-linear variation of soil profile.
