Combined experimental observation and numerical simulation of the cloud cavitation with U-type flow structures on hydrofoils
TL;DR: In this paper, a series of experimental observations around hydrofoils are carried out in the cavitation tunnel of the China Ship Scientific Research Center (CSSRC) to illustrate the spatial-temporal evolution of the cloud cavity in detail.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental measurement of tip vortex flow field with/without cavitation in an elliptic hydrofoil
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors measured the tip vortex flow with and without cavitation carried out in Cavitation Mechanism Tunnel of China Ship Scientific Research Center (CSSRC) and used the elliptic hydrofoil with section NACA 662-415 as test model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Study of tip vortex cavitation inception and vortex singing
Xiaoxing Peng,Lingxin Zhang,Benlong Wang,Lianghao Xu,Mingtai Song,Yan-tao Cao,Liu Yuwen,Fang-wen Hong,Kai Yan +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of both flow field and water qualities on tip vortex cavitation inception are considered by experiments and numerical simulations and the results show that besides the average minimum pressure in the vortex core the turbulence fluctuation and water properties including air content and nuclei distribution have great influence on tip-vortex cavitation.
Journal ArticleDOI
A prediction model for suction cavitation erosion in a journal bearing
TL;DR: In this article , a new theoretical model, including lubrication module, boundary module and prediction module, was proposed to investigate the suction damage in a journal bearing, and the results showed that a stable cavitation area with steady temperature fields formed in the film rupture region, but no suction cavitation erosion occurred in a constant load journal bearing.

Endoscopic measurement method for internal flow field of valve
TL;DR: In this article, an endoscopic measurement method for the internal flow field of a valve was proposed, where a PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) technology was combined with an endoscope to measure the internal field of the valve.
