Remarks on Some Fixed Point Theorems

Several iterative methods have been proposed in the literature for solving the variational inequalities in Hilbert or Banach spaces, where the underlying operator A is monotone and Lipschitz continuous. However, there are very few methods known for solving the variational inequalities, when the Lipschitz continuity of A is dispensed with. In this article, we introduce a projection-type algorithm for finding a common solution of the variational inequalities and fixed point problem in a reflexive Banach space, where A is pseudo-monotone and not necessarily Lipschitz continuous. Also, we present an application of our result to approximating solution of pseudo-monotone equilibrium problem in a reflexive Banach space. Finally, we present some numerical examples to illustrate the performance of our method as well as comparing it with related method in the literature.

The main purpose of this paper is to introduce a viscosity-type proximal point algorithm, comprising of a nonexpansive mapping and a finite sum of resolvent operators associated with monotone bifunctions. A strong convergence of the proposed algorithm to a common solution of a finite family of equilibrium problems and fixed point problem for a nonexpansive mapping is established in a Hadamard space. We further applied our results to solve some optimization problems in Hadamard spaces.

A viscosity iterative technique for equilibrium and fixed point problems in a Hadamard space

In solving the split variational inequality problems in real Hilbert spaces, the co-coercive assumption of the underlying operators is usually required and this may limit its usefulness in many applications. To have these operators freed from the usual and restrictive co-coercive assumption, we propose a method for solving the split variational inequality problem in two real Hilbert spaces without the co-coerciveness assumption on the operators. We prove that the proposed method converges strongly to a solution of the problem and give some numerical illustrations of it in comparison with other methods in the literature to support our strong convergence result.

The main purpose of this paper is to introduce some viscosity-type proximal point algorithms which comprise of a nonexpansive mapping and a finite sum of resolvents of monotone operators, and prove their strong convergence to a common zero of a finite family of monotone operators which is also a fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping and a unique solution of some variational inequality problems in an Hadamard space. We apply our results to solve a finite family of convex minimization problems, variational inequality problems and convex feasibility problems.

This paper presents an inertial Tseng extragradient method for approximating a solution of the variational inequality problem. The proposed method uses a single projection onto a half space which can be easily evaluated. The method considered in this paper does not require the knowledge of the Lipschitz constant as it uses variable stepsizes from step to step which are updated over each iteration by a simple calculation. We prove a strong convergence theorem of the sequence generated by this method to a solution of the variational inequality problem in the framework of a 2-uniformly convex Banach space which is also uniformly smooth. Furthermore, we report some numerical experiments to illustrate the performance of this method. Our result extends and unifies corresponding results in this direction in the literature.
