Hydrogen-induced restructuring of close-packed metal surfaces: H/Ni(111) and H/Fe(110).

TL;DR: It is reported that hydrogen can induce surface reconstructions by adsorption even on close-packed substrates and new low-energy electron-diffraction analyses for H/Ni(111) and H/Fe(110) show that consideration of reconstruction is essential for a convincing experiment-theory fit as well as for reliable determination of the Adsorption site.
Journal ArticleDOI

LEED structure analysis of p(√3 × √3)R30°-O/Ni(111)

TL;DR: The p(√3 × √3)R30 ° structure formed by oxygen adsorption on Ni(111) at coverage θ = 0.33 was investigated by LEED intensity measurements and their full dynamical analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure and ordering of 2,3-dimethyl-2-butene and 2-butyne on the Ni(111) surface

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the adsorption and thermal decomposition of 2,3-dimethyl-2-butene and 2-butyne on the Ni(111) surface in the temperature range between 80 and 400 K by means of HREELS and LEED.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adsorption and thermal induced decomposition of isobutene on Ni(111)

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the kinetics of the decomposition process of isobutene with a temperature of 0.30 eV and a frequency factor of 10 7 s −1, and found that the residual molecular fragment seems to persist rather unaffected but rehybridizes towards sp 2.
