Electronegativity values from thermochemical data

TL;DR: In this paper, the electronegativities of sixtynine elements have been calculated from the most recent thermochemical data, and the mean deviation of the calculated electronegativity difference, 0·208 √ †, from the difference of the average electrone-gativities is 0·046 units.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electronegativities of carbon, silicon, germanium, tin and lead—II

TL;DR: In this paper, the electronegativities of analogous compounds of carbon, silicon, germanium, tin and lead are discussed briefly and shown to be inconsistent with the customary interpretation of the Mendeleeff periodic table and with the most widely accepted values of electronegativity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electronegativities of nitrogen, phosphorus, arsenic, antimony and bismuth

TL;DR: In this article, the relative electronegativities of the Group VB elements in the trivalent state have been determined by methods based on thermochemical data and nuclear magnetic resonance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical shifts of the methyl derivatives of the representative elements

TL;DR: In this paper, the trends of the proton chemical shifts exhibited by simple methyl compounds of the elements in the zinc, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and fluorine groups are summarized and discussed in terms of the polarities of the carbon-metal bonds and other factors.
