Journal ArticleDOI

Diamond deposition on chromium, cobalt and nickel substrates by microwave plasma chemical vapour deposition

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors observed that diamond nucleation occurred only after the substrate and its surface had been carbon saturated, and the length of the interval until saturation was reached depended on the substrate thickness.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diamond nucleation and growth on refractory metals using microwave plasma deposition

TL;DR: The influence of polishing powder remaining on the substrate surface after surface treatment as well as the surface roughness on diamond nucleation was investigated in this article, where various polishing powders (diamond, B 4 C, SiC, Al 2 O 3 ) of different grain sizes (1-50 μm).
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of microwave plasma deposition parameters on diamond coating formation on SiAlON substrates

TL;DR: In this paper, diamond films were grown on SiAlON substrates from different CH4/H2 gas mixtures by microwave-activated chemical vapor deposition (MW-CVD), and the effects of gas pressure, methane concentration, microwave power and substrate temperature on growth rate and morphology were examined.
