Extraction and characterization of nanocellulose structures from raw cotton linter.
João Morais,Morsyleide de Freitas Rosa,Men de Sá Moreira de Souza Filho,Lidyane Dias Nascimento,Diego M. do Nascimento,A. R. Cassales +5 more
TL;DR: Cotton linter is a potential source of nanocellulose crystals, particularly to be used in the production of hydrophilic nanocomposites, and the acidic hydrolyses applied to extract the nanocrystals increased the crystallinity index and the hydrophilicity and decreased the thermal stability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Banana (Musa sp. cv. Pacovan) Pseudostem Fibers are Composed of Varying Lignocellulosic Composition throughout the Diameter
André Luís Sousa Pereira,Diego M. do Nascimento,Men de Sá Moreira de Souza Filho,A. R. Cassales,João Morais,Regina C.M. de Paula,Morsyleide de Freitas Rosa,Judith P.A. Feitosa +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the lignocellulosic content and physicochemical properties of different sheaths of Pacovan banana pseudostems were compared, and it was shown that the Pacovan pseudostem cannot be considered to be a uniform biomass.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bacterial cellulose production by Komagataeibacter hansenii ATCC 23769 using sisal juice: an agroindustry waste.
Helder Levi Silva Lima,Eloisa Silveira do Nascimento,Fábia Karine Andrade,Ana Iraidy S. Brígida,Miguel Borges,A. R. Cassales,Celli Rodrigues Muniz,M. de S. M. de Souza Filho,J. P. S. Morais,M. de F. Rosa +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors optimized the production of bacterial cellulose by Komagataeibacter hansenii ATCC 23769 in a static cultivation using sisal juice, an agroindustrial residue, as substrate.
