TL;DR: In this article, a diamond-like carbon (DLC) thin film was studied with Time-of-Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (ToF SIMS) and the results indicated that the fragmentation pattern is independent of the self-bias voltage used during film deposition.

Chemical analysis of interface area in DLC/Si systems

TL;DR: In this article, the chemical composition of diamond-like carbon (DLC) films was analyzed using the radio frequency plasma chemical vapor deposition (RF PCVD) method, and high intensity of SiC, Fe and Cr was detected in the interface region of the DLC and Si substrate, the metallic ions probably originating from metal elements of the RF PCVD reactor chamber.
