Journal ArticleDOI

Cortical serotonin-S2 receptor binding in Lewy body dementia, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.

TL;DR: The results confirm an abnormality of serotonin binding in various forms of dementia and suggest that preservation of 5-HT2 receptor in the temporal cortex may differentiate hallucinating from non-hallucinating cases of SDLT.
Journal ArticleDOI

Failure of vasopressin to enhance memory in a passive avoidance task in rats.

TL;DR: It is found that post-trial, intraventricular administration of AVP produced relatively short as well as long latencies (a bimodal effect), suggesting that the peptide acts on motivational processes, for example by increasing arousal.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simple standardised neuropsychological assessments aid in the differential diagnosis of dementia with Lewy bodies from Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia.

TL;DR: DLB patients had significantly better performance on recent memory than AD patients, but more impaired visuospatial praxis, andOptimal cut-off points for the recent memory:praxis ratio achieved good discrimination between DLB and both other dementias.
Journal ArticleDOI

Matching-to-sample deficits in patients with senile dementias of the Alzheimer and Lewy body types.

TL;DR: Using a computerized matching-to-sample task, nonverbal visual recognition memory was studied in two groups of patients suffering from senile dementia of the Alzheimer type or the recently described senile psychosis of the Lewy body type, suggesting that short-term mnemonic processes, mediated by temporal lobe structures, could be more severely affected in senile Alzheimer's body type.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Comparative Study of Attentional Deficits in Senile Dementias of Alzheimer and Lewy Body Types

TL;DR: Most neuropsychological studies of senile dementia, including Alzheimer's type and Lewy body type and SDLT, have investigated mnemonic deficiencies, but this study compared and contrasted these studies.
