Purpose – In recent years, many manufacturing companies are attempting to implement lean manufacturing systems (LMS) as an effective manufacturing strategy to survive in a highly competitive market. Selection of lean manufacturing systems using the PROMETHEE

This study shows a decision model to the indicators acquisition in hospital medical equipment incorporation, based on three domains: decision making, technology assessment and Health Technology (HT) incorporation. When decision making is concerned, an analysis, synthesis and valuation context are approached, as well as the relation to the ways of making both being reflective or deliberate decision. The technology assessment domain corresponds to the choice and applying of multi-criteria methods in supporting the decision, such as: Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Multi-Attribute Failure Mode Analysis (MAFMA), Elimination and Choice Translating Reality (ELECTRE) among others. On the other hand, the HT incorporation domain, the stages of incorporation of HT, which are divided in planning, proposal production and receiving, installation and management. From all of this, a supporting model to the decision to create indicators within the HT incorporation process, as well as to the HT management was obtained. The modeling of the incorporation process, through architecture of three domains, aids the Clinical Engineering need in managing of the medical hospital technology intending to an adequate usage. With the proposed methodology, one can obtain indicators to assist decision making in the process of HT incorporation.

Decision process model to the health technology incorporation

This work deals with the application of Promethee-Gaia methodology and the choice of three systems for drying paltry-seeds and powder materials pneumatic driers, spiral driers and rotation driers with a drum with regard to five different criteria. The analysis is based on the Promethee I method, the Promethee II method and the Promethee-Gaia method, which withal shows a complex figure of the relation between alternatives and criteria in the Gaia plane. In this work the application of Decision Lab program is shown, which was the basis in analysing results and ranking alternatives. The paper analyzes three different systems for drying. When choosing the system of drying the comparative analysis of five influential parameters, such as: the coefficient of heat transfer, price, drying energy, thermal usefulness, specific use of energy. Based on the analysis, the application of a pneumatic dryer is the cheapest, given the significant savings in cost, ie. investment cost and energy efficient. Next in order of the spiral dryer, and third in the rotation with a drum dryer, in terms of benefits administration.

Application of Promethee-Gaia Methodology in the Choice of Systems for Drying Paltry-Seeds and Powder Materials

The paper presents how to select modules of an information system, applying a multicriteria decision approach, using the interactive multicriteria decision making method TODIM. The problem is to assign priorities for information modules in the planning stage of information systems. These priorities should be attributed in agreement with the decision makers’ preferences, considering the impact on strategic factors and operational aspects of processes, as examples of criteria. The TODIM method is based on the prospect theory and has the technical resources to minimise the possibility of occurrence of the reversion order. It also allows the multicriteria decision approach a group of interdependent actions; this method uses the additive difference model to determine the ranking of an alternative over another one. An analytical structure is proposed to incorporate the multicriteria TODIM method, integrated with the information system planning methodology. Strategic factors and operational aspects of processes are integrated.

Application of PROMETHEE-GAIA methodology in the choice of alternatives for investment of start-up company

The paper presents a multicriteria decision approach to select modules of an information system. The decision maker's preferences indicate priorities. These preferences are modelled via a multicriteria method, named PROMETHEE, which deals with criteria such as: impacts on strategic factors and operational aspects of processes. An analytical approach has been achieved to assign priorities for information modules. The paper includes the methodology and a case study with numerical results, including the sensitivity analysis to classify the modules of information systems. The approach can be applied in a planning stage or on a management basis. An analytical structure is proposed to incorporated the multicriteria PROMETHEE method integrated with the information system planning methodology. Strategic factors and operational aspects of the processes are integrated. A multicriteria decision model is obtained. A numerical application based on a real case study illustrates the use of the model. The approach was applied in a planning stage of power electric company. Practical results obtained show that the decision makers can have a better evaluation of information system priority analysing strategies and process operational aspects when using these modules of information system.
