Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of erythrocyte membrane preparations on the polymerization of sickle hemoglobin.

TL;DR: The results fail to show significant facilitation of intracellular sickling by nucleation sites on the red cell membrane by nucleated particles from erythrocyte membrane preparations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acute liver injury and IgG4-related autoimmune pancreatitis following mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccination

TL;DR: This work presents the first case of IgG4-RD and AIP type 1 to be associated with the mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccination.
Journal ArticleDOI

Postoperative myocardial injury and outcomes in liver and kidney transplant patients.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors retrospectively studied consecutive patients undergoing single-organ liver or kidney transplantation at a large tertiary transplant center and found that myocardial injury after noncardiac surgery (MINS) is associated with major adverse cardiac events (MACE).
Journal ArticleDOI

The Spontaneous Regression of Primary Gastrointestinal Malignancies: An Observational Review

TL;DR: In this article , an analysis of 390 cases of spontaneous regression or remission in the GI tract focuses primarily on neoplasms of the hepatobiliary system and proposes an updated version of the older inclusion criteria for spontaneous regression.
Journal Article

Effects of red cell membrane on the polymerization of sickle hemoglobin.

TL;DR: The results fail to show significant facilitation of intracellular sickling by nucleation sites on the red cell membrane, and the solubility of deoxyhemoglobin S was unaffected by the presence of red cell membranes ghosts, inside- out red cell vesicles, or inside-out vesicle enriched in erythrocyte spectrin and actin in the hemoglobin solution.
