Arsenic, Antimony and Bismuth

The temperature dependence of the specific heat capacity of tetraphenylantimony phenylpropiolate Ph4Sb(OC(O)C≡CPh) in the range of 6–450 K is studied via adiabatic vacuum and differential scanning calorimetry for the first time. The studied compound is found to melt with decomposition. The standard thermodynamic functions $$C_{p}^{ \circ }$$(T), $$H^\circ (T) - H^\circ (0)$$, $$S^\circ (T)$$, and $$G^\circ (T) - H^\circ (0)$$ are calculated for the crystalline Ph4Sb(OC(O)C≡CPh) in the range of Т → 0 to 450 K using the obtained experimental data. Multifractal processing of the low-temperature (T< 50 K) heat capacity of the studied compound is performed, and the chain–sheet topology of its structure is determined. The energy of combustion of crystalline Ph4Sb(OC(O)C≡CPh) at T = 298.15 K is measured with a static bomb inside a combustion calorimeter. The standard enthalpy of combustion, the standard enthalpy of formation ∆fH°, the standard entropy of formation ∆fS°, and the standard Gibbs energy of formation ∆fG° of the substance in the crystalline state at T = 298.15 K are calculated from the obtained experimental data.

Thermodynamic Properties of Ph 4 Sb(OC(O)C≡CPh)

Tetra(p-tolyl)antimony 2,4,6-trichlorophenoxide p-Tol4SbOC6H2Cl3-2,4,6 (1) and tetra(p-tolyl)antimony 3,4,5-trifluorobenzoate p-Tol4SbOС(O)C6H2F3-3,4,5 (2) are synthesized by the interaction of penta(p-tolyl)antimony with equimolar amounts of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol and 3,4,5-trifluorobenzoic acid in a benzene solution. Compounds 1 and 2 are also obtained by ligand redistribution reactions between penta(p-tolyl)antimony and symmetric antimony derivatives p-Tol3SbХ2. The crystal structures and structural features of compounds 1 and 2, in which antimony atoms have a trigonal bipyramidal coordination of substituents with axially located oxygen-containing ligands, are determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction.

A STUDY OF CRYSTAL STRUCTURES OF TETRA(p-TOLYL)ANTIMONY 2,4,6-TRICHLOROPHENOXIDE AND 3,4,5-TRIFLUOROBENZOATE

The energy of combustion of crystalline triphenylantimony dibenzoate is measured using an isoperibolic combustion calorimeter with a static bomb at T = 298.15 K. The experimental data show that the standard enthalpy of combustion of this substance in the crystalline state is calculated for T = 298.15 K. Standard functions ∆fH° and ∆fG° of the formation of the compound in the crystalline state are calculated for T = 298.15 K.

Thermochemical Properties of Triphenylantimony Dibenzoate Ph 3 Sb(OC(O)Ph) 2

Tetraphenylantimony methacrylate
						Ph4SbO2CC(CH3)=CH2
					and tetraphenylantimony crotonate
						Ph4SbO2CCH=CHCH3
					were synthesized by the action of acids on Ph5Sb or on
						Ph4SbBr in the presence of
					Et2NH. According to X-ray diffraction analysis data, both
					compounds are antimony complexes with distorted tetragonal-pyramidal geometry.
					Polymerization of styrene with
						Ph4SbO2CC(CH3)=CH2
					and
						Ph4SbO2CCH=CHCH3
					additives gave transparent antimony-containing polystyrene soluble in
					chloroform, dichloromethane, and THF.

The energy of combustion of crystalline adamantanecarboxylate of tetraphenylantimony and triphenylantimony bis(1-adamantanecarboxylate) is determined at 29815 K using a combustion calorimeter with a static bomb The combustion enthalpies of these substances in the crystalline state at 29815 K are calculated using the obtained experimental data Such standard functions of formation as ΔfH° and ΔfG° are calculated for the studied compounds in the crystalline state at 29815 K The obtained thermochemical properties are analyzed, and their dependences on the molar mass of the substituent with antimony are determined
