Journal ArticleDOI

Sediment yield and delivery in the blanket peat moorlands of the southern Pennines

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated sediment transport and to estimate both short-term and long-term sediment yields in a blanket peat moorland, where automatic stream sampling continued over a period of two years.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reservoir sedimentation and colour problems in Southern Pennine reservoirs

TL;DR: In this paper, a study of two major environmental issues in upland water management is presented, namely, discolouration and reservoir sedimentation, which affect water managers on different timescales and to different degrees.
Journal ArticleDOI

The delivery of sediment in upland reservoir systems

TL;DR: In this article, the role of the reservoir as the final sediment sink in fluvial and lacustrine systems is investigated, but conclusions are rendered difficult by the complex interactions in the system.

Assessment of catchment erosion in the Southern Pennines, United Kingdom, using reservoir sedimentation monitoring

TL;DR: In this article, over 100 reservoirs and artificial lakes have been surveyed in the Southern Pennines of the United Kingdom using standard techniques, and sediment yields between 3.4 and 398 t.km yr. are recorded, with the highest yields in areas of blanket peat moorland.
