Journal ArticleDOI

Loss of Hydrogen from Dihydroxyacetone Phosphate during Glyceryl Ether Synthesis

TL;DR: In a microsomal enzyme system from Tetrahymena pyriformis which synthesizes O-alkyl lipids, it was found that there was a loss of hydrogen from carbon 3 of glyceryl ethers synthesized from double-labeled DHAP.
Journal ArticleDOI

The formation of tritiated O-alkyl lipid from acyldihydroxyacetone phosphate in the presence of tritiated water.

Samuel J. Friedberg, +1 more
- 11 Feb 1975 -
TL;DR: The results indicate that the mechanism of O-alkyl lipid ether bond formation involves a hydrogen exchange and that this exchange occurs after the formation of acyldihydroxyacetone phosphate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biosynthesis of cell-surface sulfated glycoproteins by cultured vascular endothelial cells

Aaron Heifetz, +1 more
- 05 Jan 1982 -
TL;DR: 35S-Labeled oligosaccharides, isolated as glycopeptides, were resistant to a variety of chemical and enzymatic treatments which degraded vascular cell sulfated glycosaminoglycans but appear to contain terminal sialic acid residues.
