Determinants of Behavioral Intention towards Mobile Learning in Pakistan: Mediating role of Attitude

The e-learning is an advanced version of traditional education. It is defined as a way of learning by using the communication mechanisms of modern computer networks and multimedia, including voice, image, and graphics and mechanisms to search electronic libraries, as well as web portals, whether in the context of distance learning or in the classroom. The people who engage in the transition to web-supported education are the administrative staff, the faculty, and the students. They all have their needs and they all should meet specific requirements in order to facilitate the transition. The article presents the results of questionnaire research of the students readiness for e-learning in Yemeni universities.

Students Readiness for E-learning in the Universities in Yemen.

Studies establish that the individual’ beliefs on their own capacity and attitude in blended learning practice, results in positive learning outcomes. This study examines how the personal factors affecting the success of e-learning system to improve better results. Structural equation models on data of 305 targeted respondents from the selected public university demonstrates online communication self-efficacy, attitude and online media as multiple mediators between the technology access and technical usage selfefficacy and leads to increased blended learning readiness among students. It appears that despite technological factors, students with high belief in their ability and attitude makes themselves prepared towards new way of learning as they gain expanded learning experience.

A Blended Learning Model of Technology Access and Technical Self-Efficacy: Multiple Mediator Effects on Student Readiness

The widespread use of mobile technologies allows today’s students and teachers to work and study independent of place and time. Moreover, in some developing countries mobile access to internet is more predominant than other Internet access methods due to poor or destroyed communication infrastructure caused by political conflicts; therefore, mobile devices, like smartphones, are frequently used for Internet access. The aim of our research is to outline student satisfaction and preference regarding the usage of different devices – personal computers, tablets, and smartphones to access various types of learning content in higher education in the Republic of Yemen. In this study, 72 students were involved, of which, 51 of participated in the survey for evaluation of satisfaction and usability.

Mobile Device or Personal Computer for Online Learning – Students’ Satisfaction in Yemeni Universities

In this paper we present the results from a pilot study of students' attitude and readiness towards the implementation of mobile learning technologies in Republic of Yemen higher education. The results from the survey show that students are familiar with the use of smartphone facilities in daily activities, but they do not use smartphones for learning actively. Students have positive attitude towards the use of e-learning and m-learning, but the universities in the Republic of Yemen still do not offer enough e-learning and m-learning resources.

Students' readiness for mobile learning in Republic of Yemen — A pilot study

In the study we present extension of the Koole's FRAME model for mobile learning, and technological model for m-learning implementation with pilot study in Republic of Yemen. Also several frameworks and models for implementation of mobile learning are discussed. The proposed technological model is applicable in developing countries with not well developed e-learning ecosystem and problems in communication infrastructure.
