Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular epidemiological analysis of bat rabies viruses in Brazil.
Yuki Kobayashi,Go Sato,Youko Shoji,Tetsuo Sato,Takuya Itou,Elenice Maria Sequetin Cunha,Samir Issa Samara,Adolorata Aparecida Bianco Carvalho,Darci Lara Perecin Nociti,Fumio Honma Ito,Takeo Sakai +10 more
TL;DR: A molecular epidemiological analysis was performed in 19 rabies viruses isolated from haematophagous, frugivorous and insectivorous bats, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, showing a possibility of that there are bat species-specific RV variants in Brazil.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genetic and phylogenetic analysis of glycoprotein of rabies virus isolated from several species in Brazil.
Go Sato,Takuya Itou,Youko Shoji,Yasuo Miura,Takeshi Mikami,Mikako Ito,Ichiro Kurane,Samir Issa Samara,Adolorata Aparecida Bianco Carvalho,Darci Lara Perecin Nociti,Fumio Honma Ito,Takeo Sakai +11 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that Brazilian rabies virus isolates can be classified as DRRV or VRRV by analysis of the G gene and the G-L intergenic region, as well as by N gene analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Geographical distribution of vampire bat-related cattle rabies in Brazil.
Yuki Kobayashi,Ai Ogawa,Go Sato,Tetsuo Sato,Takuya Itou,Samir Issa Samara,Adolorata Aparecida Bianco Carvalho,Darci Lara Perecin Nociti,Fumio Honma Ito,Takeo Sakai +9 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that cattle rabies is derived from several regionally-defined variants, which suggests that its geographical distribution is related to that of the vampire bat population.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular and geographic analyses of vampire bat-transmitted cattle rabies in central Brazil.
Yuki Kobayashi,Go Sato,Nobuyuki Mochizuki,Shinji Hirano,Takuya Itou,Adolorata Aparecida Bianco Carvalho,Avelino Albas,Hamilton Pereira Santos,Fumio Honma Ito,Takeo Sakai +9 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that epidemiological characteristics of vampire bat-related rabies appear to be associated with the topographical and geographical characteristics of areas where cattle are maintained, and the factors affecting vampire bat ecology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalência de rotavírus do grupo A em fezes diarréicas de bezerros de corte em sistema semi-intensivo de produção
Maria da Glória Buzinaro,M.L.A. Mistieri,Adolorata Aparecida Bianco Carvalho,Samir Issa Samara,L.C.A. Regitano,José Antonio Jerez +5 more
TL;DR: During three successive seasons of calving, 69 fecal samples were collected from calves between 30 and 60 days of age presenting diarrhea, to account for the detection and prevalence of rotavirus, and the analysis of the eletrophoretic pattern of the positive samples showed four distinct group A rotav virus genome eletropherotypes.
