Journal ArticleDOI

Resistance spot welding joints of AISI 316L austenitic stainless steel sheets: Phase transformations, mechanical properties and microstructure characterizations

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of welding current at constant welding time was considered on the weld properties such as weld nugget size, tensile-shear load bearing capacity of welded materials, failure modes, failure energy, ductility, and microstructure of weld nuggets as well.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of rare earth metal addition on surface morphology and corrosion resistance of hot-dipped zinc coatings

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of rare earth metals (REM) addition on surface morphology and corrosion resistance of hot-dip galvanized steel were investigated by various corrosion tests such as weight loss in salt spray chamber and natural sea water, sacrificial protection ability in contact with fog and after immersion in sea water and linear polarisation in sodium chloride solution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of phosphating time and temperature on microstructure and corrosion behavior of magnesium phosphate coating

TL;DR: In this article, a novel phosphate coating, magnesium phosphate, was developed on steel surface and the formation of the coating was confirmed by X-ray diffraction method by scanning electron microscope.
Journal ArticleDOI

A functionally gradient nano-Ni–Co/SiC composite coating on aluminum and its tribological properties

TL;DR: In this article, a FG nano-structured Ni-Co/SiC coating was electrodeposited on an aluminum substrate and the mechanical properties of this coating compared with those of uniform Ni-co/SiCs and FG Ni-SiC coatings were also measured.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Co content on electrodeposition mechanism and mechanical properties of electrodeposited Ni–Co alloy

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of cobalt content on electrodeposition mechanism of Ni-Co film was studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy method (EIS) and surface morphology and crystallographic structure of the coatings were investigated by means of SEM and XRD.
