Alkaline sulfite–anthraquinone (as/aq) pulping of wheat straw and totally chlorine free (tcf) bleaching of pulps

TL;DR: Alkaline sulfite-anthraquinone (AS/AQ) pulping of wheat straw and totally chlorine free (TCF) bleaching of resulting pulps was investigated in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI

Canola straw chemimechanical pulping for pulp and paper production.

TL;DR: The results showed that, by applying a mild chemical pretreatment, in the CMP pulping of canola straw, the pulp brightness reached almost 40%ISO, and the strength properties were comparable to those of bagasse CMP and of wheat straw CMP.

A Kargarfard, +1 more
- 21 Feb 2011 -
TL;DR: In this article, the suitability and potential of two agricultural residues (cotton and corn stalks) for medium density fiberboard (MDF) production was evaluated. But the results almost satisfied the EN 622-5;1997 requirement.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanical Properties and Morphology of Wood Plastic Composites Produced with Thermally Treated Beech Wood

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of thermal treatment severity of wood chips on the mechanical and morphological properties of wood plastic composites (WPCs) has been investigated and the results of the mechanical testing of the WPCs showed that the outer surface of the wood fiber was coated by a section of amorphous lignin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation and identification of walnut heartwood extractives for protection of poplar wood

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the potential of juglans regia L extractives for protection of poplar wood against white-rot fungus (Trametes versicolor) for 14 weeks.
