Indium-substituted strontium hexaferrites were prepared by the conventional solid-phase reaction method. Neutron diffraction patterns were obtained at room temperature and analyzed using the Rietveld methods. A linear dependence of the unit cell parameters is found. In3+ cations are located mainly in octahedral positions of 4fVI and 12 k. The average crystallite size varies within 0.84-0.65 μm. With increasing substitution, the TC Curie temperature decreases monotonically down to ~ 520 K. ZFC and FC measurements showed a frustrated state. Upon substitution, the average and maximum sizes of ferrimagnetic clusters change in the opposite direction. The Mr remanent magnetization decreases down to ~ 20.2 emu/g at room temperature. The Ms spontaneous magnetization and the keff effective magnetocrystalline anisotropy constant are determined. With increasing substitution, the maximum of the e/ real part of permittivity decreases in magnitude from ~ 3.3 to ~ 1.9 and shifts towards low frequencies from ~ 45.5 GHz to ~ 37.4 GHz. The maximum of the tg(α) dielectric loss tangent decreases from ~ 1.0 to ~ 0.7 and shifts towards low frequencies from ~ 40.6 GHz to ~ 37.3 GHz. The low-frequency maximum of the μ/ real part of permeability decreases from ~ 1.8 to ~ 0.9 and slightly shifts towards high frequencies up to ~ 34.7 GHz. The maximum of the tg(δ) magnetic loss tangent decreases from ~ 0.7 to ~ 0.5 and shifts slightly towards low frequencies from ~ 40.5 GHz to ~ 37.7 GHz. The discussion of microwave properties is based on the saturation magnetization, natural ferromagnetic resonance and dielectric polarization types.

Carbon nanotube membranes – Strategies and challenges towards scalable manufacturing and practical separation applications

In view of their inimitable characteristics and properties, SnO2 nanomaterials and nanocomposites have been used not only in the field of diverse advanced catalytic technologies and sensors but also in the field of energy storage such as lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors, and in the field of energy production such as solar cells and water splitting. This review discusses the various synthesis techniques such as traditional methods, including processes like thermal decomposition, chemical vapor deposition, electrospinning, sol-gel, hydrothermal, solvothermal, and template-mediated methods and green methods, which include synthesis through plant-mediated, microbe-mediated, and biomolecule-mediated processes. Moreover, the advantages and limitations of these synthesis procedures and how to overcome them that would lead to future research are also discussed. This literature also focuses on various applications such as environmental remediation, energy production, energy storage, and removal of biological contaminants. Therefore, the rise and journey of SnO2-based nanocomposites will motivate the modern generation of chemists to modify and design robust nanoparticles and nanocomposites that can effectively tackle significant environmental challenges. This overview concludes by providing future perspectives on research into tin oxide in synthesis and its various applications.

The High‐Performance Bifunctional Catalyst Pd/Ti 3 C 2 T x –Carbon Nanotube for Oxygen Reduction Reaction and Hydrogen Evolution Reaction in Alkaline Medium

Herein, we described a biogenic, additive fee, eco-friendly synthesized SnO2-CNT nanohybrid as an efficient, re-collectable and reusable material for onsite water remediation. We demonstrated that the SnO2-CNTs can provide a one stop solution for water remediation as it effectively accomplished the major treatment tasks like adsorption, catalytic transformation/degradation and disinfection. The structural, morphological, surface chemical compositions of the nanocomposite and the adsorption, catalytic and antimicrobial properties were investigated using common characterization and instrumental techniques. The results revealed the brilliant efficiency of SnO2-CNT nanoadsorbent towards As (III) and a maximum Langmuir adsorption capacity of 106.95 mg/g was observed at high arsenite concentration (C0 = 1 mg/L). The nanoadsorbent was also found to be equally efficient in low arsenite concentration ranges (C0 = 100 μg/L) as it could bring down the arsenic concentration below maximum permissible limit. Moreover, using model pollutants like p-nitrophenol, Alizarin red S, Metronidazole, bacterial strains (Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus pneumonia etc.), and fungal strains (Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans), the multifunctional capability of SnO2-CNT towards water decontamination has been established. Our results suggested the promising potential of hierarchical nano-heterojunctions for engineering efficient water treatment processes.

Environmentally benign fabrication of SnO 2 -CNT nanohybrids and their multifunctional efficiency as an adsorbent, catalyst and antimicrobial agent for water decontamination

The current work involves synthesis of hybrid nanomaterial of In2O3/MoS2/Fe3O4 and their applications as photocatalysts for disintegration of esomeprazole under visible light illumination. The data emerged from various analyses testified to the successful construction of the desired nano-scaled hybrid photocatalyst. Tauc plot gave the band gap of In2O3/MoS2/Fe3O4 to be ~ 2.15 eV. Synergistic effects of the integrant components enabled efficacious photocatalytic performances of the nanocomposite. The nanohybrid photocatalyst In2O3/MoS2/Fe3O4 showed photodecomposition up to ~ 92.92% within 50 min. The current work realizes its objective of constructing metal oxide based hybrid nano-photocatalyst supported on MoS2 sheets for activity in the visible spectrum, which displayed remarkable capacity of disintegrating emerging persistent organic contaminants and are magnetically recoverable.
