Mechanical properties and fracture behavior of basalt and glass fiber reinforced concrete: An experimental study
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the application of basalt and glass fibers as fiber reinforcement in high strength concrete and found that there was no significant effect of fiber inclusion on the compressive strength and modulus of elasticity of concrete.
Journal ArticleDOI
Properties of concrete with pumice powder and fly ash as cement replacement materials
TL;DR: In this paper, pumice powder (PP) and fly ash (FA) were used as cement replacement materials and the effect of partial replacement of PP, FA and their blends by cement on physical, mechanical and durability properties of concrete was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermo-physical properties of concrete exposed to high temperature
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of high temperature on thermal conductivity and moisture resistance factor of concrete with different types of pozzolans and aggregates is investigated, and simplified formulas of second order with high correlation factors have been derived that give thermal conductivities and moisture resistivities as a function of temperature in the range of 0-600°C for the concrete series separately.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of raw rice husk addition on structure and properties of concrete
Nabi Yüzer,Zekiye Çınar,Fevziye Aköz,Hasan Biricik,Yelda Yalcin Gurkan,Nihat Kabay,Ahmet B. Kizilkanat +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, instead of polypropylene fibers, the usability of raw rice husk which is a byproduct of paddy-rice dehusking was tested in normal strength concrete.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental Evaluation of Mechanical Properties and Fracture Behavior of Carbon Fiber Reinforced High Strength Concrete
TL;DR: In this article, a study on the mechanical and fracture properties of high strength concrete reinforced with different volume fractions of carbon fiber was conducted and four different volume fraction between the range of 0.25% and 1.00% were chosen.
