Towards a post-conflict tourism recovery framework.

This study attempts to explore behavioral characteristics of international tourists visiting Istanbul in guided tours, and to examine the differences and similarities among tourists of different nationalities using data provided by Turkish tour guides. Data were collected utilizing a survey site designed for research for Turkish tour guides working in Istanbul, Turkey. The results suggest that there are three underlying dimensions of tourists’ behavior during guided tours, namely, shopping, activities, and social interaction. Significant differences are observed among seven nationalities. Pair comparisons of the groups belonging to the three dimensions are conducted for the purpose of revealing similarities and differences. The Japanese are found to be the most distinct tourist group in comparison to others. Finally, conclusions and implications are discussed at the end of the study.

Tourism Crises and Impacts on Destinations: A Systematic Review of the Tourism and Hospitality Literature:

The purpose of this research was to investigate both the importance and the feasibility of practices to prevent terrorism in tourism destinations from the perspective of public authorities related to terrorism (security forces authorities) and tourism (civil authorities). A nationwide study was conducted in all 81 provinces of Turkey by surveying two different types of high-ranking public officials (the chiefs of police departments in the case of security forces authorities and the directors of culture and tourism authorities in the case of civil authorities). The study revealed six categories of terrorism prevention practices: (1) education , (2) cooperation , (3) industrial human resources , (4) physical , (5) policing , and (6) prediction . The results demonstrated differences and similarities in preventing terrorism between popular and emerging destinations. The study supports the argument that security forces and civilian authorities have different perspectives on terrorism prevention. Specifically, civilian authorities are more likely to be cooperation and education oriented, while security forces are more likely to be prediction and physical-measures oriented.

Bu calismanin amaci; calisanlarin is-yasam dengesi ile orgutsel baglilik duzeyleri arasindaki iliskiyi incelemektir. Ayrica is yasam dengesi algilamalari ve orgutsel baglilik duzeyleri ile calisanlarin yas, egitim durumu, meslekteki hizmet suresi ve hastanedeki hizmet suresi arasinda anlamli farklilik olup olmadigini belirlemektir. Calisma kapsaminda 391 hemsireye anket uygulanmis ve sonuclar istatistiksel olarak analiz edilmistir. Analiz sonucunda hemsirelerin is-yasam dengesi ile duygusal baglilik ve normatif baglilik arasinda pozitif yonlu, devamlilik bagliligiyla ise negatif yonlu bir iliski bulunmustur. Calisanlarin duygusal ve normatif bagliliklarini arttirmada is-yasam dengesinin saglanmasi buyuk bir oneme sahiptir.

An Empirical Study Into The Relationship Between Work/Life Balance and Organizational Commitment

Bu arastirmada, turizm genel basligi altindaki lisansustu tez calismalarinin dâhil olduklari alt basliklara gore tasniflenmesi amaclanmistir. Bu dogrultuda, Gazi Universitesi bunyesinde 1985-2016 yillari arasinda hazirlanan turizm konulu 367 tez, bibliyografik arastirma yontemleri dogrultusunda belirli kriterlere gore siniflandirilmistir. Tezlerin siniflandirilmasinda belirlenen parametreler arasinda “ozet kurgusu”, “yararlanilan disiplin”, “lisansustu duzey”, “enstitu turu”, “danisman unvani” ve “arastirma yili” esas alinmistir. Arastirma bulgularina gore lisansustu tezlerin ozet kurgusunda; cogunlukla amac, yontem ve sonuca deginilirken tartisma ve onerilere buyuk oranda yer verilmedigi gorulmustur. Yararlanilan disiplinler bakimindan, ilk donem arastirmalarinda pazarlama disiplininin ilk sirada yer aldigi gorulmustur. Ikinci donem arastirmalarinda ise yonetim ve organizasyon disiplinine yonelik arastirmalarin ilk sirada yer aldigi tespit edilmistir. Diger taraftan, yuksek lisans duzeyindeki arastirmalarin doktora duzeyindeki arastirmalara kiyasla agirlikta oldugu; turizm konulu arastirmalarin en cok egitim bilimleri enstitusu catisi altinda gerceklestirildigi; tezlerin daha cok Yrd. Doc. Dr. unvanina sahip ogretim uyelerince yurutuldugu ve en fazla tezin, 2012 senesinde tamamlandigi gorulmektedir. Elde edilen bulgular, literaturde yer alan calismalar ile buyuk oranda ortusmektedir. Bundan sonra yapilacak calismalarda, farkli bibliyografik yontemlerin kullanilmasi, alinan atif sayisina gore arastirmalarin siniflandirilmasi ve disiplinlerin yaslanma hizlarinin dikkate alinmasinin fayda saglayacagi dusunulmektedir.

Analiz sonuclarina gore turistik merkez ile turistik olmayan merkezde yasayan yerli halkin satin aldiklari urunler bozuk veya arizali ciktigi zaman yapacaklari isler, odeme sekilleri, urunleri satin alirken dikkate aldiklari faktorler ve ailede satin alma kararini veren kisiler gibi konularda onemli farkliliklar tespit edilmistir.
