TL;DR: In this paper , the authors have adopted the contingency theory in times of change and uncertainties caused by COVID-19 on MSMEs and found out the ways to enhance its resilience and sustained the growth of this sector.
Abstract: The pandemic has raised an issue of survival for most of the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) because of their vulnerability in terms of size, limited financial resources, and inefficiency to deal with unpredicted situations. Therefore, the present study has adopted the contingency theory in times of change and uncertainties caused by COVID-19 on MSMEs and found out the ways to enhance its resilience and sustained the growth of this sector. This study has applied descriptive statistics and probit regression analysis to estimate the resilience and sustained growth of the firms through a change in the variables like turnover, labour employed, investment, and age of the firm. Based on the survey of 225 firms, the study observed that around 90 percent of surveyed firms realized a decline in their turnover with a 25 percent reduction in employment that mostly occur in the informal category. Interestingly, there was some increase in formal employment in around 50 percent of firms because of the business commitment of firms, shortage of informal workers, and availability of workers at lower wages. Smaller and younger firms in terms of employment and investment have a higher possibility to be affected by the external shocks indicating that the firm agility increases with firm age and size. Support measures by the government during the pandemic were found to be insufficient and have limited relevance to the MSME sector in its revival. For enhancing the resilience and sustainability of MSMEs, the study suggests small firms should be encouraged to financial planning against business uncertainties and proposes financial security measures viz. Uncertainty Corpus Fund for Small Businesses and Small Business Insurance.

TL;DR: In this article , the issue of variation in the exchange rate of the Indian Rupee (IR) against the US Dollar (USD) under a flexible exchange rate regime using monthly data spanning January 2005 to December 2020 was addressed.
Abstract: This paper addresses the issue of variation in the exchange rate of the Indian Rupee (IR) against the US Dollar (USD) under a flexible exchange rate regime using monthly data spanning January 2005 to December 2020. We find that exchange rate volatility is largely affected by its lag value rather than the inflation rate and the interest rate differential. The results of forecast accuracy suggest that the prediction performance of the ARIMA model is better than the VAR model. We also find that apart from other factors, the sharp changes in the exchange rate should be controlled by the economy because its effect will be reflected in the next period and thus creating a chain event to bring further instability in the exchange rate

Abstract: This paper proposes a system for automatic detection of litter and garbage dumps in CCTV feeds with the help of deep learning implementations. The designed system named Greenlock scans and identifies entities that resemble an accumulation of garbage or a garbage dump in real time and alerts the respective authorities to deal with the issue by locating the point of origin. The entity is labelled as garbage if it passes a certain similarity threshold. ResNet-50 has been used for the training purpose alongside TensorFlow for mathematical operations for the neural network. Combined with a pre-existing CCTV surveillance system, this system has the capability to hugely minimize garbage management costs via the prevention of formation of big dumps. The automatic detection also saves the manpower required in manual surveillance and contributes towards healthy neighborhoods and cleaner cities. This article is also showing the comparison between applied various algorithms such as standard TensorFlow, inception algo and faster-r CNN and Resnet-50, and it has been observed that Resnet-50 performed with better accuracy. The study performed here proved to be a stress reliever in terms of the garbage identification and dumping for any country. At the end of the article the comparison chart has been shown.
