Language processing apparatus and program

TL;DR: In this article, the problem of word division and assignment of Kana indicating reading for reducing errors regarding a text such as Japanese writing in Kana mixed with Chinese characters is addressed, which includes a word division processing unit which reads text data, develops a correct candidate for word division based on the read text data and calculates a score of an expected value of a correct word count of word count regarding each of the correct candidates, selects the correct candidate having the best calculated score, and outputs the word division of the selected correct candidate.

Progressive 2-pass decoder for real-time broadcast news captioning

TL;DR: A 2-pass decoder that progressively outputs the latest available results used for real-time closed captioning of Japanese broadcast news that practically eliminates the disadvantage of multiple-passDecoder that delay a decision until the end of a sentence.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Online speech detection and dual-gender speech recognition for captioning broadcast news.

TL;DR: In this paper, a new method was proposed to detect speech segments online with identifying gender attributes for efficient dual gender-dependent speech recognition and broadcast news captioning. But the proposed method requires a very small delay from the audio input.
Proceedings Article

Discriminative rescoring based on minimization of word errors for transcribing broadcast news.

TL;DR: A novel method of rescoring that reflects tendencies of errors in word hypotheses in speech recognition for transcribing broadcast news, including ill-trained spontaneous speech is described.
