Electrodeposition of copper on titanium wires: Taguchi experimental design approach
Jorge Luiz Rosa,Alain Robin,Messias Borges Silva,Messias Borges Silva,C.A. Baldan,M.P. Peres +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the influence of titanium surface preparation, cathodic current density, copper sulphate and sulphuric acid concentrations, electrical charge density and stirring of the solution on the adhesion of the electrodeposits was studied using the Taguchi statistical method.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improving corrosion resistance of Ti-6Al-4V alloy through plasma-assisted PVD deposited nitride coatings
Verônica Mara Cortez Alves de Oliveira,C. Aguiar,A.M. Vazquez,Alain Robin,Miguel Justinho Ribeiro Barboza +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, the corrosion behavior was investigated using open-circuit potential vs. time measurements, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, showing that the corrosion resistance of the coated alloy was superior, which was evidenced by lower corrosion current densities and higher impedance values.
Journal ArticleDOI
Corrosion behavior of Ti-xNb-13Zr alloys in Ringer's solution
TL;DR: In this article, the corrosion behavior of Ti, Ti-6Al-4V, and Ti-xNb-13Zr alloys (x=5, 13, and 20) was evaluated in Ringer's solution (pH 7.5) at 37 °C through open-circuit potential measurements, potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Corrosion behavior of niobium, tantalum and their alloys in hot hydrochloric and phosphoric acid solutions
Alain Robin,Jorge Luiz Rosa +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the mass-loss technique was used to evaluate the corrosion resistance of niobium, tantalum and Nb-Ta alloys in 5, 10, 15 and 20 wt% HCl and 20, 40, 60 and 80 wt%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of Sn addition on the microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of Ti–Nb–Sn alloys
TL;DR: In this paper, the microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of cast Ti-Nb alloys to which Sn has been added were discussed, and the results obtained suggested that the physical, mechanical and chemical behaviors of the Ti−Nb-Sn alloys are directly dependent on the Sn content.
