Journal ArticleDOI

Tachycardia-related channel in the scar tissue in patients with sustained monomorphic ventricular tachycardias: influence of the voltage scar definition.

TL;DR: CCs represent areas of slow conduction that can be identified in 75% of patients with SMVT, and a tiered decreasing-voltage definition of the scar is critical for CC identification.
Journal ArticleDOI

First postpacing interval after tachycardia entrainment with correction for atrioventricular node delay: a simple maneuver for differential diagnosis of atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardias versus orthodromic reciprocating tachycardias.

TL;DR: The return cycle after tachycardia entrainment by right ventricular apex stimulation with correction for AV node delay is a rapid, useful maneuver for differential diagnosis of AVNRT vs ORT in patients without preexcitation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chronic right ventricular apical pacing: Adverse effects and current therapeutic strategies to minimize them

TL;DR: There is strong evidence that patients with reduced left ventricular function are at high risk of suffering from the detrimental effects of long-term RV pacing and specific pacemaker algorithms that minimize RV pacing can reduce the negative effects of RV stimulation on cardiac function and may also prevent clinical deterioration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Subcutaneous implantable defibrillator: State-of-the art 2013.

TL;DR: The S-ICD successfully converts induced and spontaneous ventricular tachycardia/ventricular fibrillation episodes with associated complication and inappropriate shock rates similar to that of TV-ICDs, and by using far-field electrograms better tachyarrhythmia discrimination when compared to TV- ICDs has been reported.
