Journal ArticleDOI
Omega-3 fatty acids supplementation improves endothelial function and maximal oxygen uptake in endurance-trained athletes.
TL;DR: It is suggested that an increase in NO release in response to n-3 PUFA supplementation may play a central role in cardiovascular adaptive mechanisms and enhanced exercise performance in cyclists.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exercise Training in Patients With Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer During In-Hospital Chemotherapy Treatment: A RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIAL.
Anna Rutkowska,Dariusz Jastrzębski,Sebastian Rutkowski,Aleksandra Żebrowska,Arkadiusz Stanula,Jan Szczegielniak,Dariusz Ziora,Richard Casaburi +7 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that planned, individualized, and supervised exercise programs in patients with advanced lung cancer during chemotherapy are a practical and beneficial intervention for enhancing mobility and physical fitness.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of vitamin D supplementation on serum total 25(OH) levels and biochemical markers of skeletal muscles in runners
Aleksandra Żebrowska,Ewa Sadowska-Krępa,Arkadiusz Stanula,Zbigniew Waśkiewicz,Olga Łakomy,Eduard Bezuglov,Pantelis T. Nikolaidis,Thomas Rosemann,Beat Knechtle,Beat Knechtle +9 more
TL;DR: Three weeks of vitamin D supplementation had a positive effect on serum 25(OH)D levels in endurance trained runners and it caused a marked decrease in post-exercise biomarkers levels, which might play an important role in prevention of skeletal muscle injuries following exercise with eccentric muscle contraction in athletes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of medium-term green tea extract supplementation combined with CrossFit workout on blood antioxidant status and serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor in young men: a pilot study
Ewa Sadowska-Krępa,Przemysław Domaszewski,Ilona Pokora,Aleksandra Żebrowska,Agnieszka Gdańska,Tomasz Podgórski +5 more
TL;DR: A six weeks’ consumption of GTE had marginal effect on aerobic capacity and serum BDNF level in CrossFit-trained men, but it caused a marked increase in the blood antioxidant capacity and a moderate attenuation of the training-induced lipid peroxidation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevalence and Treatment of Vitamin D Deficiency in Young Male Russian Soccer Players in Winter.
Eduard Bezuglov,Aleksandra Tikhonova,Anastasiya Zueva,Vladimir Khaitin,Zbigniew Waśkiewicz,Dagmara Gerasimuk,Aleksandra Żebrowska,Thomas Rosemann,Pantelis T. Nikolaidis,Beat Knechtle,Beat Knechtle +10 more
TL;DR: The prevalence of vitamin D insufficiency and deficiency was high in young Russian soccer players and it was indicated that the daily usage of cholecalciferol in a dose 5000 IU was an effective and well-tolerated treatment for vitamin Dinsufficiency.
