Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative life cycle assessment of low-pressure RTM, compression RTM and high-pressure RTM manufacturing processes to produce CFRP car hoods
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated and compared the environmental impacts of three alternative manufacturing processes for producing CFRP car hoods: Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), High-Pressure RTM and Compression-RTM.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative life cycle assessment and cost analysis of autoclave and pressure bag molding for producing CFRP components
TL;DR: A comparative analysis between the autoclave and the PBM processes has been performed, jointly considering both the economic and environmental aspects, showing conflicting results demonstrating that a global optimum scenario does not exist and, depending on the chosen indicator and production batch, the best alternative varies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Life Cycle Model and Metrics in Shipbuilding: How to Use them in the Preliminary Design Phases
Claudio Favi,Michele Germani,Federico Campi,Marco Mandolini,Steve Manieri,Marco Marconi,Alessio Vita +6 more
TL;DR: A specific life cycle model and related metrics in shipbuilding design, supporting decision-making processes of material selection, manufacturing/assembly practices, maintenance, use, etc is introduced.
Journal ArticleDOI
Life cycle impact assessment of different manufacturing technologies for automotive CFRP components
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparative life cycle assessment analysis among pressure bag molding and bag-molding with autoclave for the manufacturing of car components in carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) was carried out.
