Journal ArticleDOI
Ascorbic Acid as a Bifunctional Hydrogen Bond Donor for the Synthesis of Cyclic Carbonates from CO2 under Ambient Conditions
Sunatda Arayachukiat,Chutima Kongtes,Alexander Barthel,Sai V. C. Vummaleti,Albert Poater,Sippakorn Wannakao,Luigi Cavallo,Valerio D'Elia +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the ascorbic acid/TBAI binary system was applied for the cycloaddition of CO2 to various epoxides under ambient or mild conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Highly integrated CO2 capture and conversion: direct synthesis of cyclic carbonates from industrial flue gas
Alexander Barthel,Alexander Barthel,Youssef Saih,Michel Gimenez,Jérémie D. A. Pelletier,Fritz E. Kühn,Valerio D'Elia,Jean-Marie Basset +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a robust and selective catalytic system based on early transition metal halides and organic nucleophiles was found able to quantitatively capture CO2 from diluted streams via formation of hemicarbonate species and to convert it to cyclic organic carbonates under ambient conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Conversion of actual flue gas CO2 via cycloaddition to propylene oxide catalyzed by a single-site, recyclable zirconium catalyst
Michael J. Kelly,Alexander Barthel,Clément Maheu,Ounjit Sodpiban,Frank-Blondel Dega,Sai V. C. Vummaleti,Edy Abou-Hamad,Jérémie D. A. Pelletier,Luigi Cavallo,Valerio D'Elia,Jean-Marie Basset +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a reusable zirconium-based catalyst for the cycloaddition of CO 2 to propylene oxide (PO) was prepared by the surface organometallic chemistry (SOMC) methodology.
