In recent years, technology in agriculture has grown and some of them have used information technology based on Internet of Things (IoT). The general objective of this study is to combine cultivation on agriculture using IoT technology based on Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). This study will focus on oyster mushrooms as cultivation objects because they have good selling values and require special conditions, namely a humid environment at a temperature range of 16-30°C. The system designed is remote monitoring using the internet and wireless communication. The monitoring system is designed using a microcontroller and sensors that will read the temperature and humidity of the oyster mushroom growing media. Then the parameters from the sensor will be sent to the ThingSpeak Cloud System. This system also allows to control the temperature of the oyster mushroom growing media when the environmental conditions are not as expected. Then the monitoring process will be monitored from web pages in graphical form which is a feature of ThingSpeak. From the results of testing the entire system, the system successfully sends temperature and humidity to the Cloud every 30 minutes. The system also managed to control temperature up to 25-29°C. From the experiments conducted it can also be concluded that the cultivation of oyster mushroom with temperature control will be more effective than the oyster mushroom field without temperature control.

Designing an IoT system for monitoring and controlling temperature and humidity in mushroom cultivation fields

Many smart house systems have been presented, but there are still some limitations in terms of the high cost, less functionality, difficulty of use that are not satisfactorily reliable and cannot be developed. Therefore, the aim of this research project was to design and develop a prototype for a smart house system that is low cost, has a user-friendly interface, and is scalable and reliable by using an integrated system of hardware and software. The hardware, such as Arduino Uno, servo motors, a temperature sensor, a motion sensor and a battery, was utilized to develop the prototype of a smart house system. The software included Arduino integrated development environment (IDE) to compile the code in hardware and using MIT App Inventor for Android mobile phones to interfacing a mobile handset with hardware. Moreover, In order to make the design of prototype more professional, Sweet Home 3D software was used. The system has been evaluated with the previous works and it was demonstrated to six experts to obtain some feedback on the prototype. The testing of the prototype demonstrated that the system was an integrated, practical and easy to use, and any new device could easily be installed into the system. The aim of this research project has been achieved successfully. However, the prototype requires further developments, which include the power supply reliability, use other wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi and ZigBee, and cross-platform apps to work with differently operated systems such as iOS for people use Apple devices by using MIT App Inventor.

Design and implementation prototype of a smart house system at low cost and multi-functional

Application of intelligent system technology can help human work, especially in this case to support oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) cultivation. In mushroom treatment, it needs to water this mushroom periodically using clean water to keep the humidity and temperature suitable. Oyster mushroom can grow and develop with temperature in range 15 to 30 degree Celcius and relative humidity in range 80 to 90 percent’s. The main purpose of this technology is to provide efficient healthcare facility remotely and to monitor the elderly in their natural environment such as homes where the non-contact infrared thermometer devices are attached. This project aims to help the public in protecting and avoiding criminal cases that are likely to occur in their neighbourhood. Such cases occur when the occupants are not at home or possibly even occur when the occupants are in the house. Intruders can unlock the house unknowingly by anyone. The Arduino Security System is a technology that uses PIR (Passive Infrared Sensor) sensors to detect such motions. This device has been created for home security systems. It uses Arduino Uno as a data processor. When the PIR detector detects movement, Arduino processes the data and triggers an alarm. At the same time, Arduino will also send the data via Wi-Fi modules to users via applications that have been uploaded to a user's smartphone. Only homeowners can turn off the alarm system using a smartphone. The connection between the application and the circuit is connected using a Wi-Fi module. The application of this detector system can be a suitable security system in accordance with the current development.
