This article is concerned with the prospects for the implementation of synchronous technology for knowledge processing and transfer by visual methods in the context of end-to-end engineering project-based training. A formal characterization of information about complex systems based on the visual cognitive meta-language VI-XML, forming a synchronous project-based educational environment, is proposed. This environment is a set of methods, using visualization metaphors, while the object under study is presented from different points of view and levels of detail (expertise). Visualization metaphors form the mechanisms for processing and transferringknowledge by comparing abstract or real objects to visually perceptible images. Visual modeling languages, in turn, are formed by fi xed sets of metaphors and rules for construction of visual models from them. The proposed approach to the presentation of models underlies the universal visual modeling environment, which provides a single interface for creating and editing visual conceptual, structural-functional, and object models. It provides the ability to encapsulate the levels of visual modeling in a single closed hierarchy, accompanying the stages of system analysis and design. The experience of using a universal visual modeling environment in the frame of practical work and group design has proven itself to be good for the solution of educational problems in the fi eld of knowledge transfer in a visual form that is easily interpreted by students.

Visual environment of cognitive graphics for end-to-end engineering project-based education

The research focuses on the issues, concerning the national identity of mass media in the era of globalization. It was the attempt to examine the linguistic situation in the multi-ethnic society, which consists of clearly defined groups of national minorities. Revealing the problems and consequences of language groups’ shift through mass media became the main objective of the research. The retrospective data on the Russian language mass media prevalence in the Eastern European countries (for example, of Estonia) were used as an analytical background. In Estonia, almost half of the Russian-speaking population cannot follow mass media due to limited knowledge of the language. These particularities for 1998-2013 were described in this article. The obtained results led to the conclusion that the major part of the Russian-speaking population of Estonia mainly follows the Russian television channels and, therefore, is more integrated in the Russian information realm than in Estonian. The multidirectional dynamics of mass media activity on prevalence was revealed. The contradictions between the Russian and Estonian mass media, Estonia and the EU on multilingual social mass media role were highlighted in the article

National Identity of Mass Media: Retrospective Study of the Russian Language Mass Media Prevalence in Eastern Europe

The article examines the market for promising memristor-based memories for smart systems. The implementation of smart systems is characterized by the widespread use cyber-physical systems, predictive maintenance, AR/VR (Augmented/Virtual Reality) technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Machine Learning algorithms. To stimulate their development, an increasing amount of computational resources and new data storage technologies is required. The current study aims to analyze the development of today’s memristive technologies market in the context of their influence on the development of smart systems. The authors discuss the key stages of the market’s formation and assess the possible effect of memristive technology on various spheres of society’s life. The research results show that the application of memristive technology can affect the development dynamics of both data mining and promising data storage systems. The estimates obtained demonstrate that the memristor market is highly competitive and there are a considerable number of active participants operating on it. The majority of companies expand their market presence by entering various end-user segments. The annual market growth rate will average about 80% and reach an estimate of USD 8.9 billion by 2024 and USD 13.5 billion by 2027.

Market for memristors and data mining memory structures for promising smart systems

This paper fits in the trend of discussing the efficiency of cryptocurrency markets. Since 2008, when Bitcoin appeared on the market, arbitrageurs from all over the world have been trying to find the gaps in the markets, which will let them earn risk-free money using financial operations. Although a lot of researchers are trying to figure out arbitrage opportunities, looking at different exchanges and using different cryptocurrencies, so far hardly anyone has looked at arbitrage opportunities with the use of FIAT currencies within the same or different exchanges. This paper examines such opportunities for three different exchanges, i.e. Kraken, Bitfinex and Bitstamp exchanges that enable trading in USD and EUR against Bitcoin at the same time. The main empirical results suggest that there are significant arbitrage opportunities on these markets. In the paper, we also show the main constraints in FIAT currencies arbitrage on cryptocurrency exchanges.

Using FIAT currencies to arbitrage on cryptocurrency exchanges

This work analyses methods of digital model development and uses electronics production as an example. It focuses on the analysis of the visual tools of a digital manufacturing system design. The digital model development process is divided into a sequence of tasks, to solve which a number of models, methods and tools is proposed. These procedures can be used to perform simulation modelling, performance prediction, promising option selection, parameters optimisation of both the device itself and its manufacturing mechanisms along with other lifecycle components, without the expensive sample tests, field tests or introduction of any changes to the already established manufacturing, selling, service and other infrastructures. Digitalisation aspects are covered by creating interrelated digital models of the device and the digital manufacturing process model that take all the technical and economic aspects into account. This approach, called Digital Twin (of the actual production), underlies the modern Industry 4.0 concept that suggests the introduction of different cyber-physical systems in the manufacturing systems. The proposed method of the visual system design uses a complex of software tools to produce digital system models of an electronics manufacturing system. The resulting digital twin of the actual manufacturing is representative of both the produced device and its manufacturing process design features. And it can be used for preparation, analysis and manufacturing improvement purposes.

Industry 4.0 Visual Tools for Digital Twin System Design

The work is devoted to the analysis of complex systems visual modelling methods. A set of graphical models usage (graphical notation) methods and formal text description (text notation) methods is used. The conceptual, structure-functional, logical and physical levels of modelling are distinguished. In general the lower level of visual modelling reflects specific abstractions. The problem of encapsulation is also considered, which is caused by the fragmented nature of visual analysis and the isolation of available tools from application during different stages of the life cycle modelling. A method for solving these problems is proposed based on the creation of the VI-XML metalanguage (Visual Intelligence XML), which includes a description of rules, concepts and opinions, oriented to presenting components of visual models of different hierarchy levels. Based on the universal language of synchronous visual models VI-XML, a universal visual diagram editor VI (Visual Intelligence) has been created.
