Classical general relativity derived from quantum gravity

This is a pedagogical introduction to the treatment of quantum general relativity as an effective field theory. It starts with an overview of the methods of effective field theory and includes an explicit example. Quantum general relativity matches this framework and I discuss gravitational examples as well as the limits of the effective field theory. I also discuss the insights from effective field theory on the gravitational effects on running couplings in the perturbative regime.

The effective field theory treatment of quantum gravity

A graviton contribution to the one-loop quantum correction to the Newton law is found. This correction corresponds to an interaction decreasing with distance as 1/r
3, in which the graviton contribution numerically dominates. Previous calculations of this contribution to the discussed effect are demonstrated to be incorrect.

Quantum Power Correction to the Newton Law

We have found the graviton contribution to the one-loop quantum correction to the Newton law. This correction results in interaction decreasing with distance as 1/r^3 and is dominated numerically by the graviton contribution. Some aspects of the source description of gravitation

We contribute to the source description of gravitation due to Schwinger by developing the necessary gravitational modifications of the couplings of various Boson fields to their sources and by providing a numerical supplement to his qualitative discussion of two-particle exchange.
