Journal ArticleDOI
Civil and structural engineering applications, recent trends, research and developments on pultruded fiber reinforced polymer closed sections: a review
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a review of fundamental research on the behavior of pultruded fiber reinforced polymer closed sections and highlight gaps in knowledge and areas of potential further research.
Journal ArticleDOI
Utilisation of waste cardboard and Nano silica fume in the production of fibre cement board reinforced by glass fibres
Morteza Khorami,Eshmaeil Ganjian,Azamalsadat Mortazavi,Messaoud Saidani,Adegoke Olubanwo,Alfred Gand +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of fiber content and size along with the effect of NSF on interaction, bonding and mechanical properties of Cement Composite Board (CCB) were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Behaviour of strengthened timber beams using near surface mounted Basalt Fibre Reinforced Polymer (BFRP) rebars
TL;DR: In this article, an experiment was conducted to investigate the bond characteristics and performance of NSM basalt FRP reinforcement with solid timber structures, and the results showed that the average bond capacity of the NSM FRP reinforced members was 16% higher than the corresponding unreinforced beams.
Journal ArticleDOI
Performance of lightweight granulated glass concrete beams reinforced with basalt FRP bars
Alfred Gand,Shuaib Sharif,Messaoud Saidani,Richard Lumor,Pam Fom,David Yeboah,Ucheowaji Ogbologugo +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the flexural behavior of basalt FRP reinforced concrete beams through experimental and analytical methods, and the experimental results indicated that the capacity decreased for the beams reinforced with BFRP bars compared to that of a corresponding beam reinforced with steel bars.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shear characterisation of pultruded superstructural FRP-concrete push-outs
TL;DR: In this article, an investigation aimed at characterising the behavior of headed shear studs in push-out testing is presented, where two phases of experimental pushout tests were carried out on composite slabs comprising of normal density concrete (NWC), and PFRP connected using steel headed studs.
