This paper presents the results of the comparative analysis of safety statistics and performance of encryption, the Strumok stream symmetric cipher (proposed for the national encryption standard of Ukraine) with other known cryptographic transformation algorithms, such as SALSA20, SNOW2.0, HC, AES with usages in stream mode, etc. They are accepted as national, international standards or are presented by the New European Schemes for Signatures, Integrity, and Encryptions (NESSI), Cryptography Research and Evaluation Committees (CRYPTREC) and others. The result of safety statistics is an analysis of the cryptographic properties of the output sequences using statistical test sets developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST STS) and the DIEHARD tests. The result of the study of performance is the evaluation of the use of central processing unit (CPU) time to convert one octet of data to 64-bit computing platforms, following the test profile used in the eSTREAM contest.

Studies on statistical analysis and performance evaluation for some stream ciphers

The main cryptographic primitives in blockchain networks are hashing functions that are designed to form short and unpredictable digests for the message entered. In blockchain networks, hashing is used to build linked block lists, which provide safe and secure storage of important information in a distributed repository. The peculiarity of the hash search problem in blockchain networks allows applying the maximum parallelization of calculations, what good are multithreaded graphics processors (GPUs). In this paper, we explore the performance of GOST 34.311, STRIBOG, KECCAK, SHA2, RIPEMD160, Blake2b, and Whirlpool cryptographic hashing algorithms. HashCat software and various GPUs were used for comparative analysis of efficiency. GPUs were used: Geforce 740M 2GB; Geforce GTX1050ti 4GB; Rx580 Aorus 4GB; Rx580 Sapphire Pulse 8GB; Sapphire Vega 56 8GB.

Performance of Hash Algorithms on GPUs for Use in Blockchain

The structure and features of the construction for intrusion detection and prevention network systems, as well as methods for the correlation analysis of telecommunication traffic in computer systems and networks are considered. Method for detecting malicious software based on the correlation analysis of network traffic is proposed. In particular, it is shown that using the results of statistical studies of time series on the basis of calculating the difference of correlation integrals (BDS-testing) allows to detect the malicious software traffic to improve the computer networks security of promising Smart Grids systems.

Methods of data control in the residue classes are considered in the article. The main advantage of non-positional notation in the residue classes lays in the possibility of an organization of the process of quick implementation of modular arithmetic operations of addition, subtraction and multiplication. The base of the method is the procedure of generating and using the positional indication of non-positional code. That allows increasing efficiency of the procedure of data control granted by the residue classes.

Method of Data Control in the Residue Classes.

Methods for implementing integer arithmetic operations of addition, subtraction, and multiplication in the system of residual classes are considered. It is shown that their practical use in computer systems can significantly improve the performance of the implementation of arithmetic operations. A new method has been developed for raising numbers represented in the system of residual classes to an arbitrary power of a natural number, both in positive and in negative number ranges. An example of the implementation of the proposed method for the construction of numbers represented in the system of residual classes for the value of degree k = 2 is given.

This chapter provides general requirements to modern block ciphers required for implementation at lightweight cryptographic transformations for critical distributed environment applications with Green IT conformance. It is given an overview of well-known block ciphers and lightweight primitives PRESENT and CLEFIA, defined at ISO/IEC 29192-2. It is given a specification of the lightweight block cipher Cypress that was recently developed and presented in Ukraine. Cypress does not use heavy computation operations, nor require any precomputed tables that allows efficient hardware implementation. The Cypress performance in software is approximately three times higher than AES one on Windows, Linux and Android platforms.
