A transparent substrate particularly of glass, provided with a stack of thin layers having at least one metallic layer (4) having properties in the infrared range particularly having low emissivity and two coatings having a base of dielectric material located one (8) under and the other (9) over the layer having properties in the infrared range, as well as a protective metallic layer (5) place immediately over an in contact with the layer having properties in the infrared range, characterized in that in order to prevent the modification of properties of the stack, particularly optical and thermal properties, in the case where the substrate is submitted to a thermal treatment of the tempering or bending kind, firstly the second coating (9) having a base of dielectric material, includes a barrier layer for the diffusion of oxygen chosen from the following materials: components of silicon SiO2, SiOxCy, SiONNy, nitrates such as Si3N4 or AlN, carbides such as SiC, TiC, CrC, TaC of a thickness of at least 10 nanometers and preferably of at least 20 nanometers, and secondly the layer having properties in the infrared range is directly in contact with the underlying dielectric coating.

The embodiments described herein can be used to enable one-time or few-time programmable memories to work with existing consumer electronic devices (such as those that work with flash - an erasable, non-volatile memory) without requiring a firmware upgrade, thereby providing backwards compatibility while minimizing user impact. After completion of the recording of the media, another index file is generated corresponding to the media for inclusion into the media file.

Method and system for providing distributed editing and storage of digital media over a network

This invention realizes an editing system and control method thereof capable of significantly improving working efficiency of editing work. A proxy editing terminal device creates an EDL with low-resolution video/audio data, resulting in reducing time to create the EDL. Further, the low-resolution video/audio data and high-resolution video/audio data having the same contents and different resolutions are previously stored, so that the creation of a final edit list with the high-resolution video/audio data based on the EDL can be started in a short time after the EDL is created with the low-resolution video/audio data. Thus working efficiency of the editing work can be significantly reduced with reducing time to create the EDL and the final edit list.

A list of data which will be required by a host application is passed to a data storage device such as a hard disk drive, CDROM drive, or other data storage device. The pre-caching method may be used in a multimedia or video editing system to quickly retrieve data from storage devices. The thread list may include a video thread, an audio thread and a data access parameter reflecting host data application requirements. The data access parameter may include at least one of data prioritization, cache management, error processing including resend capability, and data supply rate. The thread list may also include data specifying a percentage of the storage device buffer to be reserved for read ahead data and a percentage of the storage device buffer to be reserved for data which has been previously provided to the host computer.

A method of pre-caching data using thread lists, and a multimedia or video editing system using such a pre-caching method, are disclosed. A list of data which will be required by a host application is passed to a data storage device such as a hard disk drive (120), CD ROM drive or other data storage device, which locates the data and stores it in its own storage device buffer (124). The thread list may include a video thread and an audio thread, as well as a data access parameter reflecting host data application requirements. The data access parameter may include at least one of data priorization, cache management, error processing including a resend capability, and data supply rate. The thread list may also include data specifying percentages of the drive buffer (124) to be reserved for read ahead data and data which has been previously provided to the host computer (100).
