Journal ArticleDOI
Stomach Intestinal Pylorus Sparing (SIPS) Surgery for Morbid Obesity: Retrospective Analyses of Our Preliminary Experience
Brian Mitzman,Daniel Cottam,Richie Goriparthi,Samuel Cottam,Hinali Zaveri,Amit Surve,Mitchell Roslin +6 more
TL;DR: Modification of the classic DS to one with a single anastomosis and a longer common channel had effective weight loss results and Morbidity seems comparable to other stapling reconstructive procedures.
Journal ArticleDOI
The incidence of complications associated with loop duodeno-ileostomy after single-anastomosis duodenal switch procedures among 1328 patients: a multicenter experience.
Amit Surve,Daniel Cottam,Andrés Sánchez-Pernaute,Antoni Torres,Joshua E. Roller,Yong Kwon,Joshua Mourot,Bleu Schniederjan,Bo Neichoy,Paul Enochs,Michael Tyner,Jon Bruce,Scott Bovard,Mitchell Roslin,Muhammad A. Jawad,Andre F. Teixeira,Myur Srikanth,Jason Free,Hinali Zaveri,David Pilati,Jamie Bull,Legrand Belnap,Christina Richards,Walter Medlin,Rena Moon,Austin Cottam,Sarah Sabrudin,Samuel Cottam,Aneesh Dhorepatil +28 more
TL;DR: The overall incidence of complications associated with loop DI was lower than the reported incidence of anastomotic complications after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch.
Journal ArticleDOI
A retrospective comparison of biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch with single anastomosis duodenal switch (SIPS-stomach intestinal pylorus sparing surgery) at a single institution with two year follow-up
TL;DR: The SIPS is a simplified DS procedure that eliminates one anastomosis and compared with BPD-DS has fewer perioperative and postoperative complications, shorter operative time and length of stay, and similar nutritional results at 2 years.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mid-term 4-Year Outcomes with Single Anastomosis Duodenal-Ileal Bypass with Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery at a Single US Center.
Hinali Zaveri,Amit Surve,Daniel Cottam,Austin Cottam,Walter Medlin,Christina Richards,Legrand Belnap,Samuel Cottam,Benjamin Horsley +8 more
TL;DR: SADI-S is a safe and effective procedure in both short- and mid-term data points and diabetes resolution and weight loss appear similar to traditional RYDS and better than RYGB.
Journal ArticleDOI
A matched cohort analysis of single anastomosis loop duodenal switch versus Roux-en-Y gastric bypass with 18-month follow-up.
Austin Cottam,Daniel Cottam,Walter Medlin,Christina Richards,Samuel Cottam,Hinali Zaveri,Amit Surve +6 more
TL;DR: This paper seeks to compare the 18-month weight loss outcomes and complications of the more standard GBP with the newer LDS in a single US center and finds that LDS has comparable weight loss results to GBP.
