The design conditions of a welding truss-column with height of 28 m for a certain 500 kV substation were referenced.Via the comparative analysis between the welding and bolting truss-columns,the conclusion that the bolting truss-column could applied to power transmission and transformation engineering instead of the welding column is drawn.Otherwise,via the research on the effects of the cover plate thickness,the top plate thickness,the vertical plate thickness,and the type and arrangement of connecting bolts on the global stiffness and intensity of the bolting truss-column,difference among the effect degree of these factors are also obtained.And the results are favorable theoretical references for the design and optimization design of the bolting truss-column.

Optimum analysis of bolting top-joint of electric power transformation truss-column

Steel coupling beams are substituted for the reinforced concrete beams to improve the seismic behavior of coupled shear wall system and overcome the difficulties of design and construction of the latter.The nonlinear finite element model of shear-critical coupling beam-wall connection in a hybrid coupled shear wall is developed by FEM software ABAQUS for numerical simulation in this article,so as to obtain the hysteresis response and the stress distribution in core region under cyclic loading by the analysis on steel coupling beams,and the main parameters are investigated to find out their influence on the hysteretic behavior of the connection,such as the axial compression ratio and the height-to-thickness ratio of web.The analytical results show that this kind of connection has high seismic performance,and is suitable for using in high-rise buildings in high-intensity earthquake areas.

FEM Analysis on Hysteretic Behavior of Shear-critical Steel Coupling Beam-column Connection in Hybrid Coupled Shear Wall System

To study on the failure model, ductility, energy dissipation capacity, structural displacement, and stiffness of the portal frame structures on the effect of earthquake force, a pseudo-static experiment with a 1/3 scaled model has been completed. Based on the test result, though the ductility and the energy consumption capacity of the structure are poor, the requirement on aseismatic bearing capacity is satisfied, because the structure suffers the smaller seismic force as the deadweight of structure is light. Built up a finite element model according to the test specimen, then performed finite element analysis, the results showed that the finite element model can be used for seismic analysis of the portal frame.

Aseismic Test and Finite Element Analysis of Light-Weight Steel Portal Frame with Tapered Members

Finite element analysis have been carried out in order to study the mechanical properties of the joints between elevated columns and truss column in substation frame. Firstly, the numerical results and the experimental ones were compared to verify the efficiency of the FEM model. Then, the whole process of elastic-plastic analysis was carried out to the prototype structure. The results show that when the bottom of the elevated column was yielding, the stress of the stiffeners at the joint is small, which can meet the design principle of “strong joint - weak member” criterion. Furthermore, when the structure enters into the elastic-plastic stage, the stress in the upper stiffeners at the horizontal load direction is large and most of them yield, but the stress in the plane gusset plate of the joint is still small.

Finite Element Analysis on Mechanic Behavior of Joints between Elevated Columns and Truss Columns in Substation Frame

Based on the state-of-the-art of the research on connection of steel coupling beam to shear wall, The steel coupling beam has satisfactory seismic performance which is better than reinforced concrete coupling beams and composite coupling beams. In this paper, the existing research results were summarized and some views were put forward. It was useful to develop a seismic design method for hybrid coupled walls in China.
