Journal ArticleDOI
Simulation of in-house logistics operations for manufacturing
TL;DR: In this paper , a simulation model of a mixed-model assembly line composed by a supermarket, diverse kits, human pickers and automated guided vehicles (AGV) is explored to analyze the potential for production support operation improvement, where the introduction of automated technologies like robots is explored.
Journal ArticleDOI
A responsiveness metric for the design and planning of resilient supply chains
TL;DR: In this paper , a new resilient SC metric is proposed, which is incorporated into a developed optimisation model, where economic and responsiveness objectives are maximised when designing and planning resilient SC considering all SC entities.
Book ChapterDOI
Design and Planning of Downstream Petroleum Supply Chains
TL;DR: In this article, a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model is proposed for downstream PSC to develop an efficient network design with tactical planning decisions of production, storage, transportation, importation and exportation volumes of crude oil and derived products.
Book ChapterDOI
Multi-objective design of multipurpose batch facilities using economic assessments
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a multi-objective optimization approach for the design of multipurpose batch facilities considering economic aspects, and presented the identification of a range of optimal plant topologies, facilities design and storage policies that minimize the total cost of the system, while maximizing the production subject to total product demands and operational restrictions.
Book ChapterDOI
Fuzzy-like Optimization Approach for Design and Scheduling of Multipurpose Non-Periodic Facilities
TL;DR: This work presents an alternative optimization approach, adapted from symmetric fuzzy linear programming (SFLP), which is applied to the design and scheduling of this kind of facilities, and results are compared to those obtained with the mono-objective model through the e-constraint approach.
