Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of sequential vs same-day simultaneous collagen cross-linking and topography-guided PRK for treatment of keratoconus.

TL;DR: Same-day simultaneous topography-guided PRK and CXL appears to be superior to sequential CXL with later PRK in the visual rehabilitation of progressing keratoconus, with improvement in UCVA and BSCVA, a greater mean reduction in spherical equivalent refraction and keratometry, and less corneal haze.
Journal Article

Long Term Comparison of Sequential vs. Same-Day Simultaneous Collagen Cross-Linking and Topography-Guided PRK for Treatment of Keratoconus

TL;DR: In this article, the safety and efficacy of corneal collagen cross-linking and topography-guided photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) using a different sequence and timing were evaluated in consecutive keratoconus cases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long term results of a prospective randomized bilateral eye comparison trial of higher fluence, shorter duration ultraviolet A radiation, and riboflavin collagen cross linking for progressive keratoconus.

TL;DR: This novel technique offers similar clinical results in ectasia stabilization without any adverse effects noted and is suitable for use in conjunction with conventional CXL.
Journal ArticleDOI

Modified intracorneal ring segment implantations (INTACS) for the management of moderate to advanced keratoconus: efficacy and complications.

TL;DR: The procedure appears to be effective in improving UCVA and BSCVA of patients with clinical keratoconus in a small study group, however, there were significant postoperative problems with regards to thinning and ring exposure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Management of Corneal Ectasia After LASIK With Combined, Same-day, Topography- guided Partial Transepithelial PRK and Collagen Cross-linking: The Athens Protocol

TL;DR: Combined, same-day, topography-guided PRK and CXL appeared to offer tomographic stability, even after long-term follow-up, and may offer an alternative in the management of iatrogenic corneal ectasia.
