A vehicle air conditioner has an air conditioning unit and an air conditioning control unit. The air conditioning unit has a FACE blowout port, a DEF blowout port, an upper blowout port. The air conditioning control unit estimates an outside windshield temperature and determines an outside dew point temperature. The control unit also controls the upper blowout port to stop blowing or not based on the estimated outside windshield temperature and the outside dew point temperature in a face mode to prevent the windshield from fogging.

Vehicle air conditioner

An air distribution system having a plurality of vents for a motor vehicle is provided. The system includes a cylindrical housing having a plurality of passageways that lead to the vents attached thereto, The cylindrical housing encloses two inner barrels are rotatably mounted therein that can independently direct air to selected vents. This provides the ability for the passenger of the vehicle to receive air flow through a selected vent and the driver to receive sir flow through a possibly different selected vent.

Variable mode air distribution system

In a vehicle air conditioner with a rotary door, an air vent is opened in side end plates of the rotary door in an axial direction, and a communication port communicating with the air vent is opened in a side surface of a heater case opposite to the side plates of the rotary door. Further, a side face air passage communicating with the communication port of the heater case and a side face air outlet of a passenger compartment is provided outside the heater case. Thus, a part of conditioned air flows into a main air passage in the heater case through an opening of the rotary door, while a part of conditioned air flows into the side face air passage through the air vent of the rotary door and the communication port of the heater case. As a result, in the vehicle air conditioner, it is possible to always open the side face air outlet in each air outlet mode, without reducing an air amount blown into the passenger compartment.

Vehicle air conditioner with rotary door

The air-dividing valve is used in an air-conditioning system in a road vehicle. The valve housing (3) has a large cylindrical bore which accommodates the valve body. There is a large-diameter air inlet passage (B) through which air flows into the valve body. The air-passage through the valve body tapers and is defined by convex cheeks so that the exit from the valve body is much narrower than the entrance. There may be three exit passages (5a-c), with their entrances almost touching each other. Any of the exit passages may be selected by turning the valve body. There are two movable flaps just in front of the valve body which may partially streamline the flow of air into the rotary valve body.

Gas flow control valves comprising a valve housing including a cylindrical interior passage, and a housing opening extending from the interior passage through the housing. The gas flow control valve further comprises a cylindrical rotary valve element including a sidewall, and a rotary valve element opening extending through the sidewall. The valve element is rotatably received within the interior passage of the valve housing, such that the housing opening may be selectively aligned with the rotary valve element opening, and an area of overlap of the housing opening and the valve element opening may be varied by rotating the valve element within the interior passage of the valve housing.

Variable orifice rotary valves for controlling gas flow

The device has two air distributors. Each consists of a casing (2) with cylindrical wall. The casing contains a cylindrical valve body with air intake at one end and an end wall extending laterally. The casing has an air intake (10) in one end, and an endface wall (8) extending across the other end, and has at least two air outputs (12, 14) in the side wall and another (16) in the end wall. By turning the valve body in the casing, one or more outlets can be wholly or partly covered, so that the air can be directed to one aperture or another connected to the air jets, to direct the air as required.
