Human-Nature Relationships and Linkages to Environmental Behaviour

TL;DR: In this paper, a scale of Schwartz's Theory of Basic Values is used to assess individuals' relationship with nature, and whether such relationships correlate with environmental behaviour, and the results verify that people hold multiple human-nature relationships, confirm strong correlations between human nature relationships and values and reveal that individuals' behaviour is connected to the relationship they have with nature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluating the structure and use of hiking trails in recreational areas using a mixed GPS tracking and graph theory approach

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a new approach to evaluate the structure and use of hiking trails by combining GPS tracking and analytical methods based on graph theory, based on empirical data (N =482 GPS tracks) collected in the Lobau, which is part of the Danube Floodplains National Park in Austria.
Journal ArticleDOI

Three-dimensional modelling and visualisation of vegetation for landscape simulation

TL;DR: Langton et al. as mentioned in this paper proposed a system for 3D landscape visualisation based on a set of rules which define the shape of its individual parts (stems, leaves, flowers, etc.) as well as their configuration and temporal development.
Journal ArticleDOI

Individual and collective socio-psychological patterns of photovoltaic investment under diverging policy regimes of Austria and Italy

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated two comparative study cases with contrasting state support for photovoltaic investments: high financial support in the province of Bolzano/South Tyrol (Italy) versus lower financial support by the Austrian province of Styria (Austria).
Journal ArticleDOI

Impacts of Global Warming on Mountaineering: A Classification of Phenomena Affecting the Alpine Trail Network

TL;DR: In this paper, a classification of phenomena describing the effects of global warming on high Alpine trails and routes is presented, based on an in-depth study in the Austrian Alps, and examples collected show that numerous different types of phenomena can affect both the occurrence of natural hazards along high Alpine trail and routes, and the accessibility of the terrain.
