Nanosystems for the Encapsulation of Natural Products: The Case of Chitosan Biopolymer as a Matrix

TL;DR: In this review article, the advantageous character of chitosan as a matrix for nanosystemsis is presented, focusing on the encapsulation of natural products.
Journal ArticleDOI

Choline chloride and tartaric acid, a Natural Deep Eutectic Solvent for the efficient extraction of phenolic and carotenoid compounds

TL;DR: In this article, a Natural Deep Eutectic Solvent derived from two natural products, namely choline chloride and L(+)-tartaric acid, was used as a potential solvent for the extraction of phenolic compounds from Greek propolis and carotenoids from apricot and shrimp wastes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Separation of the ethanol/water azeotropic mixture using ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents

TL;DR: In this paper, two ethanolamine-based ionic liquids (ILs) and two choline chloride-based deep eutectic solvents (DESs) were synthesized and evaluated as entrainers for the separation of the ethanol/water azeotropic mixture.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of Biscoumarins Using Recyclable and Biodegradable Task-Specific Ionic Liquids

TL;DR: In this paper, task-specific ionic liquids (ILs) were used as solvents and catalysts in a domino Knoevenagel-Michael reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ionic liquids as entrainers for the separation of the ethanol/water system

TL;DR: In this paper, the ionic liquids (ILs) synthesized and examined as entrainers for the ethanol/water azeotropic mixture were 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide ([BMIM][Br]) and 1-ethyl-3methyloride-morphosilium-bromide (EMIM]) and the initial concentrations for the ternary mixtures were 5, 10% and 15% w/w.
