Generation of simple extended porous surface expression from results of pore-level conjugate heat transfer in spherical-void-phase porous blocks

TL;DR: Pore-level calculations of highlyconductive spherical void-phase foams are performed to facilitate the calibration of a simple one-dimensional extended-surface model for porous heat sinks as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

A computational study on airflow balancing in a horticultural drying chamber

TL;DR: In this article, simulations were conducted to study the airflow across skids of grapes in a horticultural grape drying chamber for the purpose of balancing the airflow to produce a uniform drying environment.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Benchmarking of a 3D, unstructured, finite volume code for incompressible Navier-Stokes equation on a cluster of distributed-memory computers

TL;DR: A dynamic convergence criteria (DCC) is developed to enhance the performance of the code by linking the nonlinear convergence ofThe code and the solver convergence and was shown good improvements with the speedups of over four times in terms of wall-clock time.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Finite-Volume Model for Numerical Solidification of Mg Alloys

TL;DR: In this paper, a wedge casting of magnesium alloy AZ31 in the presence of melt convection is investigated and the formulation used in the in-house code is developed based on the finite volume method on unstructured grids and utilizes a colocated finite-volume framework.
