Certification of a second-generation biological reference material (freeze-dried human serum) for trace element determinations

TL;DR: In this paper, the certification of a second-generation biological reference material (freeze-dried human serum) for trace element determinations is described, which was prepared under rigorously controlled conditions to avoid extraneous additions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preliminary study on the determination of selenium compounds in some selenium-accumulating mushrooms.

TL;DR: Using various chromatographic techniques (size exclusion, anion exchange, and cation exchange) combined with several detectors (neutron activation analysis and atomic fluorescence spectrometry), an attempt was made to characterize selenium compounds in some edible, selenum-accumulating mushrooms (Albatrellus pes-caprae and Boletus edulis).
Journal ArticleDOI

The toluene extraction of some elements as iodides from sulphuric acid-potassium iodide media. Application to neutron activation analysis. II. Determination of arsenic and antimony in biological materials at submicrogram levels.

TL;DR: A method is described for the neutron activation analysis or arsenic and antimony simultaneously in biological materials at submicrogram level, based on the differences in the extraction behaviour of the iodides from sulphuric acid-potassium iodide medium with toluene.
Journal ArticleDOI

A dual arsenic speciation system combining liquid chromatographic and purge and trap-gas chromatographic separation with atomic fluorescence spectrometric detection

TL;DR: An arsenic speciation system comprising liquid chromatography and purge and trap-gas chromatography (PT-GC) interfaced with atomic fluorescence spectrometry (AFS) is described in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI

Simultaneous determination of iodine and selenium in biological samples by radiochemical neutron activation analysis

TL;DR: In this article, a radiochemical neutron activation analysis method for simultaneous determination of these elements in a single sample was developed based on the double irradiation LICSIR technique, where the sample is ignited in an oxygen flask and iodine and selenium are sequentially and selectively extracted as elemental iodine and 5-nitro-2,1,3 benzoselena diazole chelate.
