TL;DR: Diabetic patients had reduced intrahepatic fat content, which was associated with increased fasting lipid oxidation, and the unbalanced hepatic glucagon and insulin concentrations affecting patients with type 1 diabetes may be involved in this abnormality of intra hepatic lipid metabolism.
Abstract: Aims/hypothesis Insulin resistance may be associated with ectopic fat accumulation potentially determined by reduced lipid oxidation. In patients with type 1 diabetes peripheral insulin resistance is associated with higher intramyocellular lipid content. We assessed whether these patients are also characterised by intrahepatic fat accumulation and abnormal fat oxidation.

TL;DR: In this article, left ventricular dysfunction affecting type 1 diabetic-uremic patients was associated with abnormal heart high-energy phosphates (HEPs) and to ascertain whether these alterations were also present in recipients of kidney or kidney-pancreas transplantation.

TL;DR: A 4-year-old patient was referred to the authors' department and underwent gadolinium-enhanced cardiovascular MR (CMR) because of a suspected left ventricular mass, and echocardiography showed a heterogeneous mass of theleft ventricular lateral wall inside the pericardial space.
Abstract: A 4-year-old patient was referred to our department and underwent gadolinium-enhanced cardiovascular MR (CMR) because of a suspected left ventricular mass. The infant was referred for an ECG before dental surgery; ECG revealed negative T waves in leads D1, AVL, V4, V5, and V6. Echocardiography showed a heterogeneous mass of the left ventricular lateral wall inside the pericardial space, 4.0×2.0 cm in size, with reduced lateral wall motion. The global left ventricular function was normal. CMR was performed under sedation with a 1.5-T magnet (Gyroscan …
