Transarterial oily chemoembolization for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma: A multivariate analysis of prognostic factors
L. Mondazzi,Riccardo Bottelli,Giorgio Brambilla,Antonio Rampoldi,Indira Rezakovic,Claudio Zavaglia,A Alberti,Gaetano Ideo +7 more
TL;DR: A total of 84 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and cirrhosis were analyzed retrospectively to investigate prognostic factors and two simple prognostic indexes are proposed: an “initial” index (including pretreatment and treatment variables) and a “follow‐up’ index (also including follow‐up variables).
Journal ArticleDOI
Angiographic Evaluation of Peripheral Arterial Occlusive Disease and Its Role as a Prognostic Determinant for Major Amputation in Diabetic Subjects With Foot Ulcers
Ezio Faglia,Fabrizio Favales,Antonella Quarantiello,Patrizia Calia,Paratore Clelia,Giorgio Brambilla,Antonio Rampoldi,Alberto Morabito +7 more
TL;DR: Angiography permits an exact detection of occlusive arterial disease in subjects with normal results for noninvasive vascular procedures and can be obtained from the evaluation of the extent and diffusion of the stenoses, which indicates a relevant prognostic value for major amputation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Change in Major Amputation Rate in a Center Dedicated to Diabetic Foot Care During the 1980s: Prognostic Determinants for Major Amputation
Ezio Faglia,Fabrizio Favales,Antonio Aldeghi,Patrizia Calia,Antonella Quarantiello,Pierremigio Barbano,Maurizio Puttini,Bruno Palmieri,Giorgio Brambilla,Antonio Rampoldi,Ester Mazzola,Luigi Valenti,Gianfranco Fattori,Vincenzo Rega,Aldo Cristalli,Giorgio Oriani,Michael Michael,Alberto Morabito +17 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that a comprehensive protocol as well as a multidisciplinary approach in a dedicated center can assure a decrease in major amputation rate and the parameters of limb perfusion were the modifiable prognostic determinants most strongly predictive for amputation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Under-dilated TIPS Associate With Efficacy and Reduced Encephalopathy in a Prospective, Non-randomized Study of Patients With Cirrhosis
Filippo Schepis,Francesco Vizzutti,Guadalupe Garcia-Tsao,Guadalupe Garcia-Tsao,Guido Marzocchi,L. Rega,Nicola De Maria,Tommaso Di Maira,Stefano Gitto,Cristian Caporali,Stefano Colopi,Mario De Santis,Umberto Arena,Antonio Rampoldi,Aldo Airoldi,Alessandro Cannavale,Fabrizio Fanelli,Cristina Mosconi,Matteo Renzulli,Roberto Agazzi,Roberto Nani,Pietro Quaretti,Ilaria Fiorina,Lorenzo Paolo Moramarco,Roberto Miraglia,Angelo Luca,Raffaele Bruno,Stefano Fagiuoli,Rita Golfieri,Pietro Torricelli,Fabrizio Di Benedetto,Luca S. Belli,Federico Banchelli,Giacomo Laffi,Fabio Marra,Erica Villa +35 more
TL;DR: In a prospective, non‐randomized study of patients with cirrhosis, under‐dilation of PTFE‐SGs during TIPS placement is found to be feasible, associated with lower rates of PSE, and effective.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hepatocellular carcinoma: comparison between liver transplantation, resective surgery, ethanol injection, and chemoembolization
G. Colella,R. Bottelli,L De Carlis,C. V. Sansalone,Gianfranco Rondinara,Antonino Alberti,Luca S. Belli,F. Gelosa,G. M. Iamoni,Antonio Rampoldi,A. De Gasperi,A. Corti,E. Mazza,Paolo Aseni,A. Meroni,Abdallah Slim,M. Finzi,F. Di Benedetto,F. Manochehri,M.L. Follini,Gaetano Ideo,Domenico Forti +21 more
TL;DR: LT seems to be the treatment of choice for monofocal H CC less then 5 cm in diameter and in selected cases of plurifocal HCC.
