Hantavirus infections in Europe.
Olli Vapalahti,Jukka Mustonen,Åke Lundkvist,Heikki Henttonen,Alexander Plyusnin,Alexander Plyusnin,Antti Vaheri,Antti Vaheri +7 more
TL;DR: There are few available data about the clinical picture of confirmed Saaremaa infections, but epidemiological evidence suggests that it is less pathogenic than Dobrava, and that SaareMAa infections are more similar to nephropathia epidemica caused by Puumala.
Journal Article
Sequential appearance of fibronectin and collagen in experimental granulation tissue.
TL;DR: The results suggest that fibronectin functions as a primary matrix for organization of the collagenous connective tissue during the tissue repair process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Activation of fibroblasts in cancer stroma.
Kati Räsänen,Antti Vaheri +1 more
TL;DR: This review focuses mainly on carcinomas and discusses the recent findings regarding the role of activated fibroblasts in driving tumor progression.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hantaviruses: genome structure, expression and evolution.
TL;DR: The identification in 1993 of Sin Nombre virus (SN) as the causative agent of hantavirus-associated pulmonary syndrome (HPS) led to intensive search for further hantviruses and as a result today a total of as many as 16 well-established sero/genotypes may be listed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ezrin has a COOH-terminal actin-binding site that is conserved in the ezrin protein family.
TL;DR: The actin-binding capability of ezrin supports its proposed role as a membrane-cytoskeleton linker as well as other members of the protein family.
