Journal ArticleDOI

Intranasal drug delivery.

TL;DR: This chapter deals with animal techniques to study nasal absorption and the effect of physico-chemical and biopharmaceutical properties of drugs on the rate and extent of absorption.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solubility enhancement of some water-insoluble drugs in the presence of nicotinamide and related compounds

TL;DR: The solubilities of five poorly water-soluble drugs, diazepam, griseofulvin, progesterone, 17 beta-estradiol, and testosterone, were studied in the presence of nicotinamide and the aromaticity of the pyridine ring is an important factor in complexation because the aromatic amide ligands were found to enhance the aqueous solubility of the test drugs to a greater extent than the aliphatic amid ligands.

Novel method of administering narcotic antagonists and analgesics and novel dosage forms containing same

TL;DR: In this article, a novel method of administering narcotic antagonists, narcotic analgesics and related compounds, and dosage forms containing those compounds which are adapted for nasal administration is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nasal absorption of propranolol from different dosage forms by rats and dogs.

TL;DR: The blood levels of propranolol in rats and dogs were compared after the administration of nasal, intravenous, and oral solutions, and the bioavailability of the sustained-release formulation was identical to that of the intravenous administration.
